There are five people in my life that I call friend's. All woman, no romantic interests at all. I'm there for them when they need it and thier appreciation for it shows. It seems men don't have the time to be friend's and they dont open up. They can be very negative and/or less caring when your dealing with sensitive issues. On the other hand, women are mixed drink drinkers and I like drinking beer, with the guys.

I too agree with what Looking_glass said. What works for some people will not necessarily work for others. Some people can be friends with the opposite sex, without any sexual attraction and some can't. Bottom line is that everyone and every situation is different.

I dont see why there is such a massive debate because surely the answer to this question is 'some people can be just friends, some people are just not capable of it'.
