That's ridiculous. I've had plenty of male friends who "didn't fancy" me. To suggest that men and women can't be "just friends" is ludicrous.

Growing up my best friends were boys. They are the ones that helped form my sense of humor. I saw them as brothers and to this day still consider them brothers. I was greatly distressed one day when one of their cousins, who we kind of hung out with but I was not uber close to, told me one day that I had nice ta-ta's. I turned to one of my guy friends and said "what" more like WTF and he said "yeah you do". That really creeped me out. But it showed me that men are very different from women.
I do believe it is possible, but people have to be honest with themselves. If you have any feelings what so ever about the other person, then really you cannot really be friends because you are hoping for more. If you both can really just be friends, then it is really possible.
I continue to gain both males and females to this day and I think it is a good healthy thing. I would never want to only have chicks as friends. It would be very one sided and some times I need a dude to tell me to stop being such a chick.

That is something that is difficult to happen, a platonic relationship, in most cases it doesn't work because the pull of sexuality in times of intimacy is so strong, not ending up having sex would seem unnatural and frustrating. Where it can happen it is a refreshing change from the usual.
Most likely people can develop such relationships if they already have a sexual partner.

I think it depends on the man and the woman..Some can,and some cant..Ive always had lots of male friends,they seem to be less backbiting than my female friends,but I have some fabulous female friends as well..I know women who wouldnt dream of having a male friend..Guess it takes all kinds.But,technicaly,yes..it is possible....

well I would like to believe that my male friends see more in me than just great T&A.
if I possess all the qualities that one would value and cherish in a friend, why should it matter that to my male buddy that I'm a woman?
but then again, too many men still see us as mere sex objects.......
