"Scholar" ( has a name ever been so misused)

I'm still waiting for the list of "celebrated Watchtower scholars" this mysterious group who are so sure of themselves they hide so that they don't have to answer to anyone.

Also how do you managed to type those posts of your wearing the blindfold the Watchtower puts on you.

You know very well that our teachings are Bible -based because Bible texts are frequently cited in our literature and public preaching and teaching. The proof is in the pudding so to speak and cannot be denied.

You ask for veriable dates so I provide FOUR dates : 607 BCE, 539 BCE, 537 BCE and 1914 CE. How good is that ?

October in 1914 saw the world caught up in World War 1 which was the direct result of Satan;s expulsion to earth and the birth of the Kingdom. It is accepted therefore gu many thinkers that this changed the world forever and was the most significant year in modern history.

I submit the following texts to prove that the seventy years was exilic: Jeremiah 25:11; 29:10 and the book of Lamentations for starters. Wanna play?

Scholar said: What those Bible Students were teaching was that 1914 would see the end of the Gentile Times and that has since been well established

Well, how deceptive can a cornered JW get. You see our regular friend is using the current teaching of 'Gentile Times'. However, what exactly was being prophesied?

"In view of this strong Bible evidence concerning the Times of the Gentiles, we consider it an established truth that the final end of the kingdoms of this world, and the full establishment of the kingdom of God, will be accomplished by the end of A.D. 1914." (The Time Is At Hand, 1902 edition, p. 99)

Your chart does help you either because it is full of errors despite the fact that I liked the layout and format of data.

According to your scheme you have two seventy year periods; seventy years of Babylonian domination and seventy years of denunciation whereas the Bible's clear testimony along with Josephus is that there was one definite historical period of seventy years of exile, servitude and desolation.

    And nobody elses.

Just because they appear in the Watchtower or some misled Elder speaks them DOES NOT make them correct.

The Bible texts must be right because they are in the Watchtower. The Watchtower must be right because it uses Bible texts.

    Circular reasoning, totally useless.

You KNOW the doctrine is untenable, so does the Gorverning Body, so do the "celebrated Watchtower scholars."

What those Bible Students were teaching was that 1914 would see the end of the Gentile Times and that has since been well established.

Indicate how this has been verifiably well established.

It is true that such an understanding of matters also attracted certain speculations about the significance of that year that in fact did not materialize such as the end of the world. How one views such matters in the light of history and Bible prophecy is a matter of personal faith and choice and I do not believe that unfulfilled expectations are an error or failure but rather are expressions of faith and hope in God's promises for His people and mankind.

Note that this is the same kind of backpeddling that the Watchtower Society itself admitted (in a weasly kind of way) that it published material encouraging members to believe that Armageddon would occur in 1975. (w80 3/15 pp. 17-18 pars. 5-7) (It is also noteworthy that many JWs today deny that it was indeed the Watchtower Society and not just rogue members that triggered the 1975 speculation, the the Society itself admitted it.)

It is not a matter of decieit or 'sanitization' as these are the traits of apostates who have no interest in God;s purposes or promises for the future. Their only agenda is to ridicule and destroy people's faith in the KINGDOM. Our history or Christian heritage is there for all to see, read and research so there is no need to hide anything, mistakes or errors are part of imperfect people and an imperfect Church but the Lord has chosen imperfect, humble ones to do His will during these last days, the time of the Great Harvest.

Again 'scholar' demonstrates for us the typical paranoia that is actively encouraged by the WTS in its members. It is imagined that any who leave their religion after recognising its doctrines to be untrue must have an 'agenda' of some kind. This is a kind of scaremongering to prevent 'witnesses' from objectively examining their religion for themselves, though they expect people of other religions to do so.

When you have a good news, gospel or mission then you can criticize. If you are truly a Christian then how are you carrying out the Great Commission?

I have good news: I am free of the paranoia and superstition of JW mythology.

Apostates are scared of scholar because he skilfully defends WT chronology knowing full well that his apology can be helpful to those 'weak in faith', having doubt sowed in their minds by such deceivers. Scholar is helpful.

    Your model is simply an interpretation biased in favour of Neo-Babylonian chronology with the illusion of being Bible-based. It simply an opinion and falls on the sword of the 'seventy years' which corrects the data by twenty years. Also, it false to history as it does not accurately with the reign of Jehoiakim and his vassalage to Nebuchadnezzer amongst many other things. Be aware of scholar's maxim;

    Poor history=Poor chronology

At this time I am unable to provide a list of as you say the mysterious group of 'celebrated WT scholars'.

No blindfold but simply the Bible and clear thinking ability with its power of reason. Don't you love it?

Even our staunchest critics pay homage to our use of the Bible, no-one can seriously deny that our teachings are Bible based free from human traditions and creeds.

Yes the mere citation by itself is no proof but we invite the reader to examine those texts and cross check with other cited texts. So, the proof is there for all to use and prove. This is Heremeneutics at its best. Circular reasoning is a fallacyand used by those who lack any intellectual compass in order to remove any idea of Truth.

Scholar, what happens when nothing "happens"?

Does the chronology get tweaked then?

    Used to believe like you,

Since you didn't respond the first time.

When will you admit it's all wrong?
