It seems to me that you've missed the point of this very logical and anti-superstitious article, Terry.

    Faith is a waste. Agreed.

Spirituality means understanding that there is something more than physics and genitals.

I don't worship it. I don't bow down before it. I'm not enslaved by it.

    I just appreciate and admire.

What is so wrong with that?

I don't expect anyone other than myself to fix me or my problems.

But don't tell me that a sunset is just an observable cosmic phenomenon.

If you think that, maybe a girlfriend is in order.

For instance : is death the worst thing that can happen to somebody? I guess not since some people wants to die ... but would they want to die if they would be able to transcend what makes them want to die?

Yes, you've clearly given the best possible example of insanity!

Without life there can be no values possible.

By blurring the distinction between life and death in positing a greater (transcendant) life, death becomes a VIRTUE!

Insanity is insanity no matter what you call the resulting martyrdom and oblivion.

That's when AGAIN I can see how limited your reasoning is - it is not because I use an example about death that it means that death is or becomes a value to me (AGAIN you MIXE EVERYTHING) this is not what the example is suppose to say ... but I guess it all depends on who is reading (And you turning this into that is not surprising to me) ... Terry get a clue (you are so oriented).

Nvr- Mrs. Flipper and I have a real spiritual connection every time we go camping in the forest. We enjoy wild life, nature, the stars, moon, and of course each other! It's a very spiritual experience as we take in the moment in the here and now when going through it. It causes you to enjoy lifes simple pleasures which enrich our existence. I truly feel you can have that anytime, faith or not. Spirituality and emotion is combined, don't need faith for that

Nvr- Mrs. Flipper said to say that all this cerebral stuff is gonna make her simple mind explode and force her into the living room to watch three Stooges reruns with a bottle of Ripple and a bag of Cheetos! Peace out, Mr. & Mrs. Flipper

Then why oh why oh why is the admiration and the appreciation given a folder tag with the word SPIRIT connected to it? (SPIRITuality)

Look at enough clouds and you'll occasionally "see" an alligator or Abe Lincoln. Guess what? Not there! Just water vapor.

Humans insist on admiring the alligator and Abe Lincoln when all they are doing is patting their own imagination on the back for hallucinating a pattern for them.

I'm sticking with this position, Terry! LOL!

If people saying that they observe beauty in or are moved by nature is "patting their own imagination on the back for hallucinating a pattern for them " then I'm guilty as charged.

You fascinate me. I really don't get why you're so hostile towards warmth and feeling. But, I'm sure you have your reasons.
