educ8self: So if we look at just the Christ principle, and connect that with statements like "before Abraham was, I AM", and remember that isn't about existing before, not I WAS ALREADY, it's present tense, here and now.
Jesus says, "I AM" because He is always there. He is always around. (And don't tell me superman.)By the way, "I AM" is God's name too.

James Thomas wrote....
It seems that the teaching clearly implies that if I do not honor and accept Jesus as my saviour, I'm not only not-saved, but I will also reap some form of punishment or even death.
Personally, I can not honestly find it in my heart to love, honor and worship a deity who will kill me or drastically punish me, if I do not.
First, I don't believe he ever existed and I completely agree with James Thomas if he did exist. I don't "worship" anything.

144001:but there is plenty of evidence that man created god in his own image.
Really? And whose image would that be? God made us ...we cannot make God. Infact we have no idea how to make cells in a body. We cannot make it. Who does it?
Imagine mixing concrete and praying to that, calling it "God". When this thing man made falls and break what happens? "God" died?
God is a Spirit by the way and very powerful. That is why Jesus is the only mediator between man and God.
If you took the time to read and think about my post, you should be able to comprehend that the image I'm referring to is that of "man," i.e., male human beings in general. Like man, the god of the bible acts in a violent, racist, egotistical, chauvinistic, and generally repugnant manner.
Praying to mixed concrete characterized as "god" is not much different than praying to anything else labeled as "god," or to the idea of such a "god." The existence of the god of the bible is unproven and as plausible as the existence of invisible polka-dotted unicorns.
It's rather hilarious that you claim that this "god" is a "spirit," another entity whose existence is unproven, and claim that "Jesus" is the "only" mediator between man and god. You make an abundance of claims, Hibie. Too bad none of them have any substance.

Girl God created time. He gave us days and nights. He gave us the hours, minutes and seconds. Without God, we would be nothing. What proof? You are experiencing it.
With logic like that, no wonder you are foolish enough to believe in a talking snake, a talking donkey, a man coming back to life after three days and flying into the sky, a man living in a whale, a big invisible dragon loose on the Earth and every species of animal living on a boat for 40 days while a flood went higher than Mount Everest 4,000 years ago.
Is the real reason you're trying to convince people to think like you do that you won't feel so stupid if many others share this belief? If only you believed in Jesus, would you question your sanity?

Hibie was my reaction to this statement (amongst others) by you:
Infact we have no idea how to make cells in a body. We cannot make it.
Check this simple explanation to a scientific process out and let us know what you think:

From educ8self:
"Now mind you, if you're going to have any ideas about this sense of presence you have to leave the here and now - after all don't all your thoughts require something from the past? Even expressing them requires a length of time, a beginning and an end, however brief it may be. But if you remain in the NOW of I AM, there is NO TIME to tell your story about Jesus or any narrative. It doesn't say I am this or I am that, the emphasis is clearly on I AM. All stories about Jesus would amount to adding something after the I am, and giving it a completely different meaning. So it is when people talk about Jesus they have this whole personality and history added to it - making the I AM something else."
Wonderful! You sound like someone I would enjoy knowing. I would like to add that we can also declare "I am", not I am this, that or other but simply "I am" What is this "I am" that precedes our identity, is present beneath our identity, and remains after our identity dissolves? Find out. Is this "I am" any less than the "I am" of Jesus? -
