reborn: One Way was the last song we sang last night. We have a lot of young people so we cater to both young and older. The evening service is sometimes taken over by them and so you can imagine what they choose to sing. There are some great guitarists on the worship team.

Hi Reborn: I can't compare the Jdubs services to ours because apart from a funeral and a wedding (which i found very unspiritual, very regimented), I've never been to a kingdom hall, but that's my opinion. We all have different styles of worship and as long as our heart is in it that's all that matters. There's a time for studying the word and there's a time for worship. I have to say we know how to worship. These are a couple of songs we sing that I love.

You ain't kiddin'. The KH music was so bland and boring. I don't miss that at all. It really makes a difference when you have a band and a choir and everyone is full of love for the Lord and really into what they are singing.

I think that this video of "Revelation Song" is some of the best worship I've ever seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FObjd5wrgZ8 They are so passionate. It reminds of the Calvary Chapel I used to attend in Florida. My church here in Canada is pretty small and I really miss having the big worship band.

I haven’t posted for a while. Dealing with a personal issue and feeling at this time a bit too vulnerable to post. Hopefully in time I will but I do want to continue with this gospel thread. Thank you to those who have contributed and I hope that you will continue to do so. This gospel has helped me greatly getting through the really bad times. Maybe it will help someone else going through a difficult time. I trust in God that this issue will pass and I will come through it stronger and more loving (and maybe even a bit wiser?)

I just heard I CAN ONLY IMAGINE by Mercy Me.

That song helped draw me out of the KH. Also JUST AS I AM - I used to rush home from the meetings to catch it at the end of Billy Graham's sermons.

There is JESUS KEEP ME NEAR THE CROSS or IN THE CROSS. I was shocked and pleased to find it in the Bible Students songbook (Songs of The Millenial Dawn).

The oldtime Spirituals just tug at my heartstrings. I remember singing WE ARE CLIMBING JACOB'S LADDER. No songbook, no musical instruction, just whole-souled singing the songs of our forebears.
