I had a 1984 Ford Ranger that was brown w/ an orange pin stripe down the side. The gas tank was rusted and the fuel guage was broken. I had to keep a talley of the miles in a log so I would know when to fill-up. I also had to change the fuel filter (myself, thank you) every other fill-up as the rust was breaking off into the fuel. It also was a stick shift and didn't have power steering. Talk about an upperbody exercise. My arms were sore for weeks after first starting to drive it. I had some major bi-cepts, though.

I had a 1969 toyota corolla wagon. It was brown and had sheepskin seats. It was my mom's paper route car, and both my sister's 1st cars before I got it. It was so trashed. It had been wrecked, so the front end was a bit smashed and the hood had to be held down with a bungee cord. The rear windshield wiper made a complete circle.

1959 volkswagen beetle, convertible, four on the floor, painted day glo yellow with a black cloth top. Paid $100 for it with a friend. Took us everywhere. The congregation was shocked - girls didn't DO that...

1972 poor mans porshe---kharman Ghia---Red Orange, 4-speed, seats 4 kinda, so great for service. oh also had a 68 two-tone bus and two bug convertibles.
If this was a ragtop I would still have it..............oompa

Ironically, the elders gave me shit for my car too! It was "too weird". I said, "Look, it's a four door and can fit more people in it for service than any car on the lot, even if it is pink." They were kinda quiet after that.

Hey oompa, my brother's first car was a 71 Karmann Ghia that he bought new while in the Navy. It was yellow; it was great! His girlfriend always thought it strange that he called his car "Karmann", not realizing that that was actually its name.
