Open my song book and stand waiting. Sheesh, I wish I'd have done that, but I just thought if it right now.

would start rolling it up.................... putting books away. stretching elaborately........yawwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnn.
one time the circuit overseer was there and it seemed like even tho they allegidly abreviated the rest of the parts that all the brothers went overtime untill it was the last brother of the night....... he walked up put his notes down........ cleared his throat........ looked up.
the co had gotten up and walked to the back of the room and when he caught the brothers eye......... made a throat cutting motion.............. the brother picked up his notes and books and walked back down to his seat.
hahahahahaahah best part of the night.......... year........... ever

I was usually my elder dad who was dragging things out. I would try to catch his eye and point at my watch.

I actually like it when the public talks when overtime, this meant the WT study would be just questions and NO READING! Reading the WT for the 3rd time was the worst! It must be common practice to just discard your bible and stuff when the speaker goes overtime, thats what my parents would have us do.

Before I saw the body of your OP, I responded in my head to the heading of "When meetings went overtime, what did you do?"
I missed "Laverne and Shirley"! Meeting nights were bad enough since we missed "Happy Days". But, we were always home in time to appall my mom and watch "Three's Company"! :)
I had no power to 'handle it'. I was just a kid who loved ABC on Tuesday nights!
I also missed a lot of the "Waltons", which didn't make me happy either. Our meetings rarely went OT, but it was always a battle to get my mom out quickly. She didn't really linger, but if we hurried, we didn't have to miss any of the show. I think she hated taking us all to the meetings as much as we hated going. My bro stopped going when we were maybe 6.I should have too!

If they went beyond the 2 hours, I would miss the next meeting to get even.
You don't fool around with me !!!

Towards the "end", I was doing the Bookstudy in 20 minutes.
