ELDER FINALLY VISITED MY DAD.....

Well, over two weeks after my father nearly died thanks to this bone-head cult, he and mom finally got a visit from one of the elders. I had left work early the other day as my mom had asked me to pick a few things up for them. So I pull up in their driveway and notice a few people in a car and figured it was the Witlesses and sure enough it was. I go in the house and there's the PO visiting with my father. He looked at me and forced himself to say 'hi', so I made sure I rolled my eyes as I returned the greeting and turned my back on him. (this is the same dirty old bastard that had the hots for me when I was 17 and he was in his late 40s ) I unloaded the things mom had asked me to get and started putting them away.

Their conversation turned to 'how close we are to The End', yadda, yadda, yadda........He said "...We just need to hang on a little while longer..." and "....Dave (another elder) was talking to someone from Crooklyn Bethel not that long ago and, word is, the Governing Body are saying that The End is so close they can feel it in their bones."

I really had to bite my tongue because I really wanted to say "...That's arthritis they're feeling in their bones-----not Armageddon, you idiot" but I didn't want to stress my parents out so I said nothing. And we all how hard that is for me to do.

At first I thought it was nice that they finally got a visit from someone in the Hall, but then it dawned on me: This guy's only visiting because they're out in Service, the weather's crappy and no one feels like doing door to door work, so they decided to visit. What I thought was really bizarre is that he didn't bring in the rest of the car group. They were left sitting out in the car, freezing while he was warm and comfortable in the house having a cup of tea a cookies. What a loving arrangment.

I've gotten more support from people on here, from my 'apostate' friends who live close by, and from my worldly co-workers, than what my parents have gotten over all this. Surely this is another fine indication that Jehovah is NOT blessing this Organization.

    Mary-

    Phew! You did well!

Maybe you should have told Elder It's-Over that when you passed the car filled with publishers freezing and in need of a piss, guess what they were reading out loud?

"Looked to me that they were reading 'Crisis of Conscience - isn't that an apostate book Elder It's-Over? Oh by the way, I wouldn't worry about it, but one of the brothers was taking a leak in back of a neighbor's house."

LOL.......Either that or I should have said "Why would you leave 3 other people freezing outside while you count time visiting a baptized Witness?"

word is, the Governing Body are saying that The End is so close they can feel it in their bones."

That was my thought too when you said that! lol

Mary, it was the same way when my father was sick and in hospital. My mother had to literally beg for help and basically guilt them into visiting (she had mentioned something to an elder friend in a different cong and word got back to the elders in her cong, and they didn't like the "embarassment" it brought to them).

Keep your chin up kiddo, and go easy on the tongue biting! lol

Mary good to see your father's on the mend.

the Governing Body are saying that The End is so close they can feel it in their bones

LOL. That's their end, not the end of this system.

Loved reading your posting Mary! Jeepers, everything you said was so typical of the Jdubs, e.g. making others wait out in the car, only visiting certain ones contingent on the weather and claiming the end is right around the corner. I think it's THEIR end that is so close. Arthritis? *heehee* I think you were right about that.

You reacted perfectly in their presence. Good for you!

    Luv Ya!

    Mary, I applaud your restraint!

You handled that difficult situation beautifully.

Well done , that took some doing...I don't think I could have ...probably as a "joke" that would not have been appreciated. Sadly this experience is only what would expect nowadays...The feedback I hear from family is nothing but complaints about the elders

I am glad that your dad is is on the mend
