    Mary,

Glad your Dad is home and recovering. I know they appreciate you and all you do. It is so very like the witnesses

to make a hit and run house call and leave others outside. A few months ago when I was paid a visit by the local

cong. PO and his wife, they stayed in my house visiting for over 30 min. Finally, he looked at his watch and said

something to the effect that Brother and Sister so-and-so were out in the car, so they better be leaving! I was mortified

and said as much. Why in the world didn't you invite them in? It's not like I'm a stranger or anything! They really

don't have a true loving heart. It's all about just doing "their duty" and making a proper show. It makes me sick.

Thanks everyone. This might be nit-picking but my understanding is that Witlesses are not supposed to "count time" on their Service Report when studying/visiting with a baptized Dub. They're only supposed to count it if the person is NOT baptized. (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this one).

So technically, none of them should have counted the 'time' they spent either in the driveway, or sitting in the kitchen with my Dad, on their Field Service Report. How many here think they actually DID NOT count it as time? Anyone? Anyone?

    Bueller?...........Bueller?

    Good for you, Mary!

When I contracted cancer everyone in the KH got to know about it. Result, not one visit, not one card, not a single telephone call. And there's even an elder who lives on the corner of my street who didn't get in touch.

My 15 year's service, much of it as an MS, counted for nothing. What was more important to them was that I wasn't attending anymore!!

    Nuff said!

At first I thought it was nice that they finally got a visit from someone in the Hall, but then it dawned on me: This guy's only visiting because they're out in Service, the weather's crappy and no one feels like doing door to door work, so they decided to visit.

Mary, I cant believe you would impute wrong motives like this!!!....oompa

I know. And I feel so deeply ashamed....We all know that visiting the sick and the elderly always comes first in the minds of a Witless trying to get their 10 hours in. I guess I'm like Peter (or was it Paul?) '...oh me of little faith.."

BTW, those were MY cookies that he was eating......I had made them for mom and dad the previous day. I wonder if he'll now die at Armageddon after "eating at the table of demunz" by scarfing down chocolate chip cookies made lovingly by an 'apostate'......

I'm glad your father is better, glad he has your support. You were right not to start a confrontation when your dad is recovering from a serious illness, but I hope one day you can give that elder a piece of your mind.
