Gracie, imho and fwiw, you did nothing wrong. It might not necessarily have been advisable, or even wise, but it wasn't wrong.
Heck, we've all been scammed in so many ways that hurt us more deeply than by simply sending money to someone we didn't know, and I'm not talking about just the WTS. For myself, I've been royally screwed by those that I thought I knew best (not strangers, but people who I considered close friends, some of whom were never JWs), and am still paying the price for that naive trust (and for a whole lot than just a few bucks).
otoh, it's quite proper for friends to watch out for friends, and I have to agree with the cautions that others have expressed above.

Granny and Others who have forgiven Trevor, i admire your ability to do so. We all make mistakes, we have all lied and continue to but not once have i ever taken things so far as to pretend someone existed, i didn't make the extra effort to make that person loved by all and i didn't kill them off and cause everyone heartache. Do not be so quick to forget the disturbing Photograph he sent to Ian, it doesn't shout out 'ordinary' or someone wanting forgiveness.
I shall reserve my full opinion on trevor, especially in this thread Granny Grace because i respect your decision and who you are. However i do not respect Trevor. I claim to be Christian but i do not know if i could honestly see trevor and react in a decent way - that is not a threat, it is a thought.
BTW - just something i meant to say, i do think your very kind, loving and gentle and i wish that someday i could have the same patience you have...are you sure your not another one of the trevor trinity?
