Thanks Leolaia! I have been reading the posts. Wow! It's a lot to read! That Ruth Finely woman had the whole state scared! People here were dealing with her "Poet" and BTK. If I remember correctly, we were terrified around that time! We were relieved to find out that it was just a hoax on her part; but BTK was and is real !!! That dude is evil !!!
Mouthy, I hope you are feeling better! You are a kind soul !!!

Ok, this is freaking me out! For awhile the police thought that "The Poet and BTK" were the same person. . .
From Publishers WeeklyIn 1977 Ruth Finley, 47 years old, married, a mother and living in Witchita, Kans., began to receive disturbing letters. The letters gave way to harassment, which in turn culminated in her kidnapping and stabbing by the elusive criminal dubbed the "Poet." After four frustrating years the case was solved when a new police chief deduced that only Ruth herself could be the Poet. This deeply moving account re-creates not only the supposed crime but also the successful psychotherapy which followed. For five years, Ruth was treated by a psychiatrist named Andrew Pickens, gradually revealing that she had been a victim of childhood sexual abuse and that, while not suffering from multiple personality disorder, she still had the abused little girl in her psyche and that girl, resentful that no one had come to the adult Ruth's aid when her husband was stricken ill, became the Poet. Freelance writer Stone tells Ruth's engrossing, bizarre story with great sensitivity. Photos.

CBC News
A man suspected of being the BTK killer, responsible for killing 10 people in a 31-year period, was arrested Friday.
Wichita police identified the suspect as Dennis L. Rader, a 59-year-old city worker and Cub Scout leader.
He's suspected of strangling Joseph Otero, his
The killer known as BTK [Bind, Torture, and Kill], Wichita's most notorious serial killer, has been connected to ten homicides from 1974 to 1991. Now, after several years of exhaustive research, author Robert Beattie presents a chilling, but compelling look inside the 31-year investigation, from the 1970s to 2005, and the subsequent arrest of BTK.

Do not be so quick to forget the disturbing Photograph he sent to Ian, it doesn't shout out 'ordinary' or someone wanting forgiveness.
Absolutely, it doesnt shout out ordinary or someone wanting forgiveness, it shouts out 'I am mentally unwell and need help'. Reading between the lines I think this is the first time we ever saw the true Trevor and nowadays thinking back, I have great difficulty in not feeling some compassion for what must be a very lonely and unstable man. I admire Mouthy's ability to forgive as I know many havent been able to find it in themselves (quite frankly I dont blame them either). Reminds me of that old saying, 'to err is human, to forgive is divine'

When you break the body, you break the mind.
When you break the mind, you break the soul.
All can be 'fixed' but not without scar tissue.
So you begin to wonder.....who hurt Trevor and when?
We take 'insults' both physical, sexual, emotional and verbal against children far too lightly. Their 'wounds' appear to heal but not without scarring.
We need a little more understanding for those who have been damaged in some way!
In the end, all said and done, I was rather glad that 'Linda' didn't exist and glad she didn't die such a terrible death.
