Is that always the best course of action? Just using your "horse sense"? Or do you find that going to an expert is sometimes a good idea?
If you're sick, do you just use your own mind to decide what medicine to take?
It's important not to take everything we're told as gospel truth, but it's also important to recognize the value of research and study. If a person has studied a subject for 30 years, he's probably going to know more about it than I am. His opinions on that subject are probably more valid than mine. The likelihood of this increases if there are many other researchers with similar amounts of experience that share his opinion or one like it.
Unlike religion, science is always changing. It is always challenging itself, disagreeing with itself, and changing itself. By this process, it gets closer to understanding reality.

Take a look at how your questions evolve each time we give you an answer. Now continue this process for several million years. Eventually you will evolve to become an Atheist. That is if you use the brain that evolution has produced for you.

It is easy to despair of human nature at times Vinny. If we look at the big picture though, the vast majority of all posts on JWD are respectful and supportive and free of name calling and insults. Its worth sticking around. At least we have free speech and the ability to debate back and forth, without risking our lives. Something many didn't have in this country not that many years ago and still don't have in many places in the world. When weighed against the alternative, not being able to debate and speak freely on any issue, it's all good!

Am I correct in getting from this that you think there is something wrong with questioning these differences?
Galileo also questioned the religious beliefs of his time that conflicted with observed reality. He was also told there was something wrong with doing that. Wisely, he recanted his questions, rather than face trouble with the Church.
Do you understand that by taking this position, you are casting yourself in the role of the 16th century Church? 500 years hence, do you REALLY think that's a reasonable position to be in?

Man knowledge of technology grew over the centuries. Back then the things of today were not even a thought..because society was not built like today or even 100 years ago. God says that man will grow in knowledge in the last days...and that is VERY OBVIOUS today. The more time pass in this todays world..the more man will discover. It was not like this in the 1400's and upward..time back then...really had no meaning...but the people who did study the bible at that time knew for sure that the things God was talking about in the bible about our time today did not apply to them...but now it is very obvious we are the generation who will see AMAZING things happen.
