Thanks Babygirl, I spent a long time searching for thee one tattoo I could live with, as has been mentioned I didn't want a tat that I would later regret, since I love ankle bracelets and I am Native American this choice seemed to be the one for me, I have a heart of the same leaf/rose/vine over my heart just no pic. That pic was taken a few days after I got the tat, I wanna get the feather filled in or at least touched up with white. The artist that gave me the tattoo at my request signed his work, the inside of the rose bud in the green part* is his intials.

I and a few others I know had tattoos and some piercings while we were still in. I'm sure it happens more than some JW's think.

I got my ink done within a month or two of getting the boot. The bio hazard sign in the middle was kind of symbolic, you know, apparently I'm dangerous material and bring death to all who associate with me. I've also got a couple more lined up. I had my eyebrow and tongue pierced. But the eyebrow had to come out because of work, and the tongue stud drove friggin crazy so I took it out.

It's not, in my case, about rebellion. I always wanted to get inked. I have about 5 more planned, plus I am training to see if I can become a tattoo artist.

    Feenx, nice tribal piece man!

Piercings, now that's a whole new story I got started on those post move and well into my fade. My first piercing was my septum because I had always wanted one even as a dub. Over the last 12 years I have accumulated the following; septum (8ga), Two tongue (4ga & 6ga), one per ear (8ga), both nipples (14ga) and a Prince Albert (12ga).

I take out the septum and earings each morning at work and put them in as I leave, I have no reason to remove the others.

I would like to calrify that my original tattoo was out of rebellion a bit, since then my continued ink has been a means of personal expression as well as part of my creative vision of myself (if that makes any sense).

I have about 5 more planned, plus I am training to see if I can become a tattoo artist.

I've got a pretty good idea of what I want for the rest of my left calf, my right calf, my back and both shoulders. I'm still considering the possibility of sleeves (or half sleeves) but haven't really put any design to it. The rest I have been considering and planning for the last 10 years or so.

Whats up with that? wanting to be tattoed after we are happy with the ones we have?

Tell me about it. Just talking about it gets me itchin' . If I set foot in a tattoo parlour or hear a tattoo gun my blood almost itches. It's probably like anything else, everyone has varying levels of addiction

I never planned to get a tattoo, nor am I now planning any. Once you get one, it is irreversible and there is no guarantee that it will have the effect that you think it will on the opposite sex (it might even make existing problems even worse). They are extremely difficult to impossible to get rid of if you later change your mind about it.

However, I see no reason for anyone to not get one if they really want one. As long as the person is at least 18 and has had desire for a tattoo for some time, I see absolutely no problem with them getting one (or more than one). And that especially if the tattoo is in an area that is likely to be hidden in normal activity. I do see a problem with society not tolerating them in the workplace and elsewhere--there seems to be an image problem with them, and too many institutions like jobs make rules against them.

For me, it is a simple matter of the total cost of getting a tattoo exceeding the total expected benefit. As long as that is the case, I will not be getting one (nor will I be returning to the Watchtower Society because the cost of being a witless definitely exceeds reasonably expected benefits).
