Save My Soul
I have a photo of my wife at 19 and my children's names. I am going to get the words of a song on my back before fire school in April. Still not sure what song yet. I am considering a Tim McGraw song or Tupac, possibly both.

BigWilly - love the women in those flames - that's really cool.
erynw - too cute man - you should have mini mouse to match
I must say I never and nor do I take into consideration what the opposite sex will think of me if I have tattoos. A lot of people said it was sore - I Loved the feeling.
Next one = family crest - just not too sure where I want it.
Third one is in memory of my grandfather Alex - he was a hellofa man with a great love for the Ancient Egyptions, so it's going to be something related. I was thinking of three small pyrimids taking on the shape of an A and then the eye of Ra - that will either go on the back of my neck or my lower back.
When choosing what I want I "sit" with it for a couple of months, usually have a Henna one done to see the effect before I decide.
Piercings - I have a problem with - I tend to swell a lot. Had my upper ear done a couple of times - my ear swelled over the damn stud and I had to have it cut out - lotsa pain. Had my nose pierced while I was in - it was very pretty, but was spoken too. I've decided to stay away from any more piercings...

The most important part about tattoos is really think about what to get. Get something that means something to you so much that you won't mind seeing it on you forever. And never, ever, ever get the name of a lover or partner.

I had this tattooed all around my wrist yesterday, and I really love it. It is the third one I have had done, but this was the most painful.

Thanks, BigWilly. Sometimes ppl tell me that they would love to ge one but don't know what. Right off the bat I say, go with something that's significant for you, specially for your first one. If they have children, easiest thing to do is get your kids names in there, or something that represents them. That's something that you probably won't regret.

Maddie, I imagine the wrist is like the ankle pain wise. Since there's not really any muscle or padding of any sort, your tattooing on skin over bone, nerve and tendon. I like the knot tho!
Mastodon, right on with the advice. I recieved similar advise before my first tattoo. In retrospect, I wish I had taken more time on my first one, but it still has alot of meaning and I really don't regret it.
Loubell, I'm with ya on the whole attraction thing. Getting tattoos in hopes of impressing others is pretty shallow and vain, my tattoos are for me. If other people enjoy them, great! If not, fuck 'em

Hear, hear, tattoos are, or should be, something extremely personal and anybody who gets inked to impress someone else should be euthanized.
Oh yea and the wrist hurts like a mo'fo just like the inside of the elbow. Yikes! Those are the two spots I'm getting retouched today. -

Don't like 'em. Stop it! Ugh! If you must scribble on yourself get the wash off kind. OK? I do kind of like the split lizard tongue, charming. (not)
