The hardest question for Jehovah's Witnesses ...

This is how the "Worship the One True God" (2nd new study book) book explains it:

*** wt chap. 14 p. 131 par. 8 How Does Jehovah Direct His Organization? ***

Since the slave class was loyally doing the Master’s work at his invisible return in 1914, there is evidence that it was entrusted with enlarged responsibilities in 1919. The years since then have been the time for a global witness to the Kingdom, and a great crowd of worshipers of Jehovah is being gathered with a view to their preservation through the great tribulation. (Matthew 24:14, 21, 22; Revelation 7:9, 10) These too need spiritual food, and it is served to them by the slave class. To please Jehovah, we therefore need to accept the instruction he provides through this channel and to act in harmony with it.

So here at least, it's described as "evidently this is what happened" in 1919.

    Right.

Most recent explanation I have heard......The Finished Mystery, Jesus was pleased with it's food at the proper time, Satan was miffed and persecuted & railroaded the good and honest men of the WTS. Jesus stepped in and the sentences overturned and the good men went free to proclaim the good news of the kingdom........of course the merger of 1914 & 1919 didn't fully happen until dear Uncle Fred wrote it out in a chronology the year following Rutherford's death in 1942........kinda like the chronology he wrote for 1975.

lol it just accurred to me if jesus came and found they were the only religion that were honouring his father by name and not a roman triune God, Given the way jesus feels about his father I could see why he would pick them faulty practises and all

They weren't the only ones not worshipping a triune god.And there were/are others who use the "divine name" in it's more "correct" form according to the Bible. Many religions have their own name for the "supreme being".At any rate, the use of such a name is not the final criteria for approval. The honor of the One who bears that name is.

"These people give me honour with their lips, but their heart is far from me." Mt 15:8

Furthermore, even if a person or group had honored such a name, that does not provide a guarantee or proof that they are still in an approved state. The history of Israel proved that, did it not ?

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them.

"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” -Matthew 7:15-23

Is one impressed by superficial works ? Or with Truth ?

Erm just a minor point in response but Jehovah's name was replaced by the Word "Lord" Which most of christianity now uses and thats what Jw's are not using by restoring Jehovah name.

Maybe a religion that has replaced God's name with "Lord" in 7000 places and believe in a triune God and so making jesus God rather than God's son should maybe be more worried by this scripture?

But the Jehovah's Witnesses didn't exist in 1919. Only the Bible Students.

Who has greater culpability ? The one who professes to represent the "Most HIgh" or the one who doesn't have a clue ?

"But any prophet who falsely claims to speak in my name or who speaks in the name of another god must die.’

“But you may wonder, ‘How will we know whether or not a prophecy is from the L ord ?’ If the prophet speaks in the L ord ’s name but his prediction does not happen or come true, you will know that the L ord did not give that message. That prophet has spoken without my authority and need not be feared." Deut.18:20-22

Let's just be honest here, okay Reniaa ? You aren't really interested in seeing the "other side", are you ? I mean, you've been out for what, a decade now ? And that's still not enough time to decide if "it's the truth" ? Plus, whenever an alternative point is presented you always go into "but yeah, they have this right, and this right," and "they're still the best " or "but look at the preaching work" mode. It's right out of the JW playbook (Reasoning Book).Been there, done that.I understand that you want to turn as many back to the Org as possible and raise your daughter ( who doesn't have a choice) that way.And I guess that's your "right".But please keep in mind that those who are genuinely concerned about truth will not cooperate with such an objective. If one is unable, after having viewed the overwhelming evidence presented here and elsewhere, that this is a CULT that has , and continues , to ruin the lives of many innocent people...then they quite simply don't want to see it.And no amount of words is going to make any difference.

If only 144,000 are going to heaven, and the number started in 33 C.E. with thousands being baptised, and there have always been some present on earth, how is the number INCREASING NOW, especially if we are so near the "end?"

Ouch you really didn't like my last point! :s people usually start getting personal with me when I make a point that hits the mark,

I'm a Jw simpathiser my profile admits it, and I do end up defending Jw's to some extent in many posts but not all the time, In my defence this site says Jw's and ex Jw welcome and I think it can use and already does have some alternative voices as a balance otherwise it really is only another forum to "Tickle" ex-JW ears.
