  Gee.... I'm not a JW but I can see what all this means ....

  Anyway I don't want to deal with Joseph in this post. Just wait till you have to start understanding the blood doctrine my friend.

  I want to talk to One and Zev. Thanks for your opinions One. You might not realize it but I always take the time and carefully read your posts - there is something about you that tells me you know your stuff - kinda like when I dealt with my buddy "Maximus" (one of the best I know at the English language and an excellent redactor)

  I appreciate it One. I too was not sure if it would be good for non thinking JWs. But then again most non thinking JWs are going to discount anything or rationalize it in some strange way just like the 1975 stuff.

  Zev's site like any other site is good for thinking JWs - those who are going through bouts of cognitive dissonance etc. It is also very helpful for those who need information fast. Its all there and actual artciles instead of internet sites can be downloaded.

  The general public made up of press reporters etc. who I have given the document too do think it is well written and can understand what it all means. They like the idea of the quick abstract to get a sense of it and then can come back and read the rest. The problem with the press is not the reporters but the editors who don't want to do a news story on a tiny sect.

  I really don't think Zev's site is for the entire general public seeing the general public doesn't "click" on a JW site. But for those thinking people who are interested in the JWs I think it will help them understand the double standards and the human cost. A number of my colleagues who are not JWs at work have read the site, like it, and understand what it is all about to the point that they want to know more.

  I think the best web site for "just the facts" is Randy's site but that is just my opinion.

  I still like what Zev has done by just clicking on a word and taking a reader to a reference such as the Hoeffel letter or Zev's Watchtower letter etc.

  But I guess (and this is important) there are now many places where this is on the internet now and in many different formats. That to me is most important seeing nothing was on about this subject just a few short months ago (Thanks Kent my main man).

  I have not obtained a copy of the paper you desire because the Department of Public Information refuses to release the file.

  HOWEVER!!!!!!!!

  Mr. Hoeffel of DPI provided an 11 October 2001 letter plus there are the Criteria requirements outlined in many documents that are on the web.

  FINALLY!!!!!!

  Please contact the DPI at 212-963-8070. This is Paul Hoeffel's direct line and you will likely get his voice mail or his secratary. Someone from DPI should phone you back. They will tell you that the WTS HAD TO VOLUNTARILY SOLICIT DPI IN WRITING and the will also tell you that the WTS had to VOLUNTARILY SUPPORT THE IDEALS OF THE UN CHARTER and PROMOTE THE UN IN PUBLICATIONS ETC in order to become "associated" NGO with DPI.

  They will also tell you who was involved including Lloyd Barry, former Governing Body member.

  What more do you want?

  Now please, do some research.

  Until I see a copy of a paper signed by Watchtower representatives which plainly indicate the signees must accept the aims and goals of the United Nations, I'll be less inclined to believe that the Watchtower knew about the criteria. Their formal response is that they did NOT know, and all that speaks against this is circumstantial evidence.

  Furthermore, you have to ask yourself this question: Does it make sense that the Watchtower agents would sign a statement pledging to accept the aims and goals of the purple beast, knowing that such a document would be public knowledge? Now, you may say, that wouldn't have been the first time the Watchtower has done something utterly stupid, and I would agree, but, really, which is more likely: They did NOT sign such a public disclosable form, or that they DID, knowing that it might be made public?

  I need to see the paper I asked for before I'll believe that they signed such a paper. Is this not the least you would want, too, before you accuse the Watchtower of such a gross stupidity?

  You know, you give the exact same arguements/rationalizations that I would expect from a "society man".

  they will send a document to you.

  if you want to know who signed the application, call and ask.
  they wont release the copys for obvious reason.

  with that, call this matter closed.
  the evidence and documentation ARE THERE.
  if you read it all, it becomes clear.
  weather or not you think they knew, fact remains that there WERE positive un articles printed in watchtower publication, aka, the awake. that means, THEY KNEW what the rules of the game were.

  game over.
  case closed.
  move on.
