You do in Washington state. If you aren't licensed, you must be working under the direct supervision of a licensed, journeyman plumber.
Steve and I own a plumbing company. We have two plumbers running residential service calls. There is a huge difference between GROSS and NET which I'm not sure Joe understands. We grossed $250K by May. Net is another story.
I find the whole story amusing.

If what you write is true, and I must assume you want everyone to think it true, then why should I vote for Obama? A vote for Obama would be a vote for someone who 1) tells America he is going to increase my tax rate when in reality (according to you) my tax rate will not actually increase and 2) Obama is smart enough to know that now. To vote for Obama would be to vote for a liar. So, what exactly are you getting at? Who should I vote to promote to the presidency? A liar?
On the other hand, if what you write is true than I have no reason not to vote for Obama, since he will not actually increase my tax rate, which is my concern. In this case, then, what you write about me ponying up is a waste of breath. Again, what are you saying? Should I vote for a candidate whose remedy for fairness is a ruse?
Obama has promise to increase my tax rate, and my income is where it is because I took the risks and I carry the load. Why should I vote for that? I pay my fair share because I pay tax at a RATE similar to middle-income earners. This is fair because I pay MORE tax, but not at a higher RATE of tax. By increasing my tax rate unfairness is unavoidable for this honest paying member of the American Tax Payers’ Association.
You have a lot of gall assuming as much as you do about me, and then asserting it. I admire gall. But remember everything we commit to paper tells everyone something about our training.

Actually, i don't think he will keep all of his campaign promises, but I do think he will not raise anybody's taxes and I believe that is the right thing to do right now.
My point is Obama KNOWS he can get a significant splash politically by promising tax reductions, even when he knows it's a promise he can't keep. He knows this formula worked for Clinton, and even worked for Bush Sr.......they were both elected and neither of them followed thru.
Americans are falling for the same ol' trick yet again, unbelievable.

McCain is studying at the National War College, a prestigious graduate program he had to pull strings with the Secretary of the Navy to get into. Dramesi is enrolled, on his own merit, at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in the building next door.
There's a distance between the two men that belies their shared experience in North Vietnam — call it an honor gap. dawg,my answer is no,I like free enterprise....If socialist Marxist Obama raises taxes on my boss or his company, that means he can't afford to hire as many workers, therefore I might very well lose my job. Besides that I might want to start my own business someday with a few extra jobs available. I would not like to pay higher taxes. Obama discourages hiring ...I like to see everyone employed if that is possible.

Why should I give Obama a leadership promotion until he has earned his pay for leadership where he is first? On the other hand, why should I give McCain a promotion to a job that requires exceedingly good skills as a communicator given his failure in this respect? In the end my vote will go with McCain for one reason: Despite his failure to communicate in this presidential election he must have good communication skills to have successfully sponsored some of the bills he has. Apparently his communicative skills show up in the dank halls of negotiation where the public rarely gets a glimpse.
You cite Obama's lack of leadership as a reason for not voting for him - and that is your perogative as a voter. I believe that we vote for the leader of the party that represents our idealogy and for me, that does not mean voting for a Republican..
McCain supports the Columbian free trade agreement that will put millions in the hands of corporations and will again lead to massive job loss in the USA, while at the same time ignoring human rights in that country. I think it's time that the USA took a lead in putting a halt to human rights abuses in the name of greed. McCain supports continuation of tax cuts for the wealthy but by letting those Bush tax cuts expire, that money will go back into the same public purse that Bush stole it from with his military debt, big pharma deals and the social security funds that have been robbed. That isn't raising taxes - it's simply stopping them and those individuals who have benefitted more than the other 95% of the population, aren't going to the poor house because of it. McCain believes in the US war machine and at no time in any of his debates or campaign speeches does he talk about closing up shop in Iraq and putting that money to work for the people of the US. McCain admitted publically he doesn't understand economics or finance - he doesn't balance a bankbook or know how many houses he owns.
All in all, I don't have a problem with paying my share of taxes. It is the proper allocation of those taxes, the programs they support and the benefit they provide, that is what I see as the issue. I believe that McCain, no matter what he says, is just another Bush money man - supporting Bush 90% of the time, including in matters of economy and finance, speaks enough of his record for me. McCains absolute support of Gramm finished him off totally for me.
Why support Obama? He is the only choice you have for change; for calm, direct leadership; for progress - he's the only one attempting to secure the future of the citizens of the United States.
Do I believe either one is going to do all the things they say they are? Nope. But I believe that Obama has the ability to steer this country in a far better direction than McCain ever can. sammieswife.

Support the Tribunal Investigating Murders of Union Leaders in Colombia
Whereas, last February 12-13 a delegation of nine unionists from the AFL-CIO, headed by retired Executive Vice President Linda Chavez-Thompson, visited Colombia to strengthen the solidarity of the union movement in the United States with Colombian workers, and showing concern because of the murders of union leaders and the annihilation of workers’ organizations; and
Whereas, according to data obtained directly from the United Workers' Federation [CUT] of Colombia, in the last 20 years, 2,562 trade union leaders have been assassinated in Colombia. So far in 2008 paramilitaries have assassinated 24 union members, nineteen more than when the AFL-CIO visited Colombia, yet the perpetrators go unpunished. The Colombian government of President Alvaro Uribe Velez has done nothing to stop the genocide that is being committed against the union movement. In fact, central figures in the government have been shown to have ties to the paramilitary death squads; and
Whereas, because of the impunity of these crimes, and the crimes committed against the peasants, Indigenous, Afro-Colombians, students and the other popular sectors, many labor, social and non-governmental organizations are supporting the Peoples Permanent Tribunal, taking place in Bogota, Colombia, from July 21-23, 2008. The Tribunal intends to expose the many massacres, with a goal of obtaining the truth, justice and reparations that for so many years have been denied by the Colombian justice system; and
Whereas, the Tribunal has received accusations of crimes against humanity and violations of human rights committed by or for the benefit of transnational corporations, many of them from the United States, that operate in Colombia – including Coca-Cola, the mining company Drummond, BP, Occidental Petroleum, and Chiquita Brands; and
Whereas, independent investigations have established a clear link between many of these companies and the attacks against Colombian workers and their unions by the deadly paramilitary forces tied to the Colombian government. The United Steel Workers of America has spearheaded a suit against Coca-Cola in US courts, accusing the company of active complicity in the murder of union activists at their plants in Colombia. On May 12, 2008 the television investigative reporting program “60 Minutes” exposed the fact that the food giant Chiquita Brands made nearly $2 million in regular payments to the paramilitary death squads in Colombia; and
Whereas, the AFL-CIO has strongly opposed the proposed Colombian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), which like NAFTA would facilitate the export of jobs from the United States and the exploitation of cheap labor and resources in Colombia. The CFTA and the campaign to murder and terrorize trade union leaders and maintain a cheap labor environment, are two sides of the same coin; and
Whereas, the US government, through Plan Colombia, gives billions in US tax dollars to Colombia’s government and military – money used to support violent union-busting in Colombia; therefore be it
Resolved, that Branch 214 of the National Association of Letter Carriers supports the initiative of Colombian labor and human rights organizations to hold the Peoples Permanent Tribunal hearings in Bogota, July 21-23, 2008, to expose the continuing murderous campaign by government-supported paramilitary death squads against trade union activists in Colombia. Our union supports the struggle for the defense of Colombian labor organizations and the lives of their members; and be it further
Resolved, that our union joins the AFL-CIO in opposing the proposed Colombian Free Trade Agreement; and be it finally
