I scanned the first page of this thread and don't have time to read all 15 pages but I just want to say this to the original poster:

I don't know what your JW experience is, or was, but my money is on those on this forum who spent decades in the inner circle, teaching the WT doctrines from the platform and/or devouring all the approved 'research' published by the WTBTS.

Until you have sat on judicial committees and seen the lack of justice and disrespect for logical thinking that permeates this organization, until you have sat upstairs in the "most holy" at the conventions and watched the inherent hypocrisy and jockeying for position in this "spiritual paradise," and unless you have been at Bethel and witnessed up close the inner workings of this group of religous whack jobs, you have no idea WTF you are talking about.

Are you saying because I wasn't an elder or in the bethel I wouldn't have any idea how an organisation is run? I worked for a very big company and saw first hand what a heirachy based org can do, the cliques, the gossip, the isolation if you feel like you don't fit in, the intense ambition but I also read the bible and noticed how the Appostles constantly fought within themselves as to who was the greatest and then in the NT people were boasting in groups on who got to baptise them.

Do you honestly think if you looked behind the curtains of any religion the men would be anything more than just men? even moses got punished for his arrogance. It saddens me that so many elders and bethel workers are on here. And they have had hardest work to do they truly give all their life to Jehovah.

Well I may never have reach the upper echelons but I have never seen anything in the people around me in the KH that haven't already seen anywere else and if I have one gripe with this site it is the exageration and constant need to put the worst spin on things happenning within the wts but I guess that comes with the territory.

Another slip up there Reniaa.....Remember, you're only thinking of going back......If you're around people at the KH, then I guess that's further proof that you are in fact, an active Witness. Woooops-a-daisy!!

So why exactly are you posting on here?

It does but if we only measure false prophets on dates then the majority of christian faiths have done this, the older ones have learned to stick their head in the sand but once they were the WT equal on this. 1000 ad was popular for predictions. If you want to try and make wt into a false prophet you'll have to use more evidence than this, unless you aquit other christian faiths because there date naming was so long ago.......One thing I've notice is people on here will bring up paperwork from 19 century on wt onwards but they act like all other faiths are wiped clean by virtue of time.

Ok Reniaa, so you ignore the bible and think the way YOU want to think. The bible is clear on the subject of false prophets. It says to stay away from them, they are not from God. I dont understand what you mean by I'll have to use more evidence? The only evidence the bible asks for is if a prophet says something is to pass and it doesn't, then its not from God, hence a false prophet, what more evidence could you ask for?

And i dont care if other christian faiths have set an end date (they are false prophets as well) but we are not talking about them, we are talking about the WTS.

Follow Jesus, not a man made organization.

Yes, but the Watchtower has opened itself up to special scrutiny. Most Christian organizations do not assert that they are the exclusive channel of communication from God to mankind. Most do not claim that humans must be members of their organization in association with certain men (Slave Class) to gain salvation. Only the cults make these kinds of bellicose assertions.

Whenever an organization (and the men who govern it) make the grandiose claim that they are the sole mouthpiece of God; and that all other churches are part of the anti-Christ, they are setting themselves up to be knocked off of their pedestal. Incredible claims demand incredible evidence. When you read the Scriptures, you will find that Divine appointments to office (i.e. Moses and the priesthood) were accompanied by supernatural displays from God. The only thing the Watchtower can point to is the year that their former president got released from a Georgia prison.

The Watchtower demands a level of reverence and allegiance way beyond what they deserve. Yes, you are correct that they are imperfect men. But imperfect men do not have the right to be given unwavering allegiance when they have made asses out of themselves so many times. Reverence must be earned, not demanded.

It saddens me that so many elders and bethel workers are on here. And they have had hardest work to do they truly give all their life to Jehovah.

I served at Bethel, and I now know that I was not serving God, but the interests of a publishing corporation masquerading as a Christian congregation. You don’t have to be sad. People like us are now in a unique position to help others gain their freedom.

Did the Watchtower ever tell you why they consulted with spirit mediums?

A wonderfully refreshing and honest observation from one who had been there and lived the life of a publishing operation's slave.....an observation that should be taken very seriously.

OMG! She's serious? Gee, I thought she was just being ironic. How does she escape reproof for being on a site like this?

Well said, Jeremy... as a former bethelite and missionary I saw the HQ up close... and I began to see the charade...

Helping people is now one of the main reason I am on these sites...
