David, didn't know we were arguing. You stated an opinion.

    Hi JD

I was not intending to argue merely to show that this piece of journalism is unrepresentative of most Brits i know and it has an obvious pro gun agenda.

I still do get where IP_ Sec is coming from.

    Regards David

You gave your opinion (editorial) on an opinion (editorial) piece. No one can rebut your opinion of someone elses opinion. "facts" & "figures" can be rebutted. Your opinion of someone's opinion cannot. Clear enough?

Edit: ok my rebuttal of your opinion is: Nanner nanner boo boo.

I say take all of Britain's guns. We don't want them getting any ideas about re-gaining the colonies.

Brits don't need guns. Give them guns and next thing you know they will start getting fitted with red coats and head across the Atlantic to engage in some mischief.

I am glad you don't have guns. I would never want to force someone to have a gun (and a lot of other stuff) if they did not want to have one. If you change you mind and decide you want a gun, I do not want to stop you with that either. I really have better things to do than sit around worrying if someone has a gun, wants a gun, or is unarmed.

The Arkansas toothpick has become the popular weapon of choice in the UK. I dread to think what it would be like in this country if we had US style gunshops and a right to keep and bear arms.

I'll take a gun to gun fight over a knife to bare hand/knife fight defending myself any day.
