    Strangely enough, for many centuries, it was in Britain where a freeman was partly defined by his being allowed and even being required to bear arms. Slaves could never do that.

    Now, Brits are not allowed to bear arms, even for self defense, but of course the Government can bear all the arms they please. What does that tell you?

    Members of government agencies are, and they are properly trained and regulated.

    The fact members of the public no longer feel the need to carrry arms is of itself quite telling in how far we come as a society.
