Just say you've lost some confidence in the leadership of the organization, and are sincerely working on it.
Why have you lost confidence?
Well, it just seem like we're not getting the direction we used to. Our stand on the generation has changed direction several times now, I am not really clear on the blood issue, etc. Then the KM came out saying that we shouldn't research outside our literature. It scared me some.
Then go mild while listening to their answers. Thank them so much for their concern, and you will be praying a great deal.

I would just tell your wife to tell them that you will contact them if you feel the need for a visit.

phone them and say, "If you guys wanted to talk to me, you could have called me.
I will contact you if I have a need for you guys. Otherwise, mark your check list that
you made your attempt."Or you could just do it Blondie's way.

Or, since they called your wife instead of you, have your wife call and tell them their visit is not convenient at this time. You don't have to talk to them -- ever.
