Mat 25:29"For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. 30"Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I'm not sure how this gives any "responsibility" to the slave. In fact, the whole story is about the grace of God and faith or faithfulness which are all gifts from God to man, not gifts from man to God.

None of the verses you site say that anyone (except unbelievers) recieves rewards "based on their performance". The Collossians passage actually makes my point.

    Col 3:23

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. 25 For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality.

What does " the reward of the inheritance" mean to you? The inheritance is the righteousness of Christ. Look at Ephesians 1:3

    Eph 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

What more reward or blessing is there to recieve? I think it's very sad to see Christians still on a "performance basis" with God. It's even sadder to see them trying to bring JWs and XJWs back into that trap.

I'm very happy to let God take responsibility for conforming me to the image of His Son. You will never know true freedom in Christ until you do. It's my prayer for you that you find that freedom.

    Rom 8:29

    For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;

I hold in my hands the unchangeable word of God.

Paul, Luke, Matthew etc. wrote in 17th century English?

Cool! In the words of Johnny Carson, "I did not know that".

You can try to ignore hell if you want. You can insult, plead, and beg others to ignore it. But the reality of hell will never go away, and neither will your fear of it.

The "reality" of Hell? Where is Hell? Does Satan make a mean cup of black coffee?

DD, well like Perry and Mr. Miracle Frosty Flakes, you live in a world of delusion.

Sling that old dead cat of Fear around all you like. You guys are doing the greatest service to the xWitnesses and even the one's still in about how Wacky Fundamentalist's are.

    Keep up the good work

I've been to dozens of Jehovah's Witnesses' funerals. Just think: all of those people are now burning in Hell (along with billions of Asians), according to some. It's very difficult for me to wrap my mind around this belief.

Ooops, Sorry about getting you confused with On The Way Out

When your God forms an eternal "opinion" about someone, eternal torment hangs in the balance. Quite a difference.

A differerence without a distinction. The simple fact of the matter is that you judge people who lie, that is a fact that you cannot change. Unless you are an anarchist, you give authority for magistrates in your community to form opinions about people who lie, that is also a fact that you cannot change. Yet, when it comes to God, you would deny Him this ability.

    This is hypocrisy.

I deny him ability because he has refused to show himself. Jesus is dead. He is dust. God never was. He was created by man. Hell is imaginary.

Nothing more to say. God cannot be denied anything. He is a no-show. Gone to the privy perhaps? How will he cook me in hell if he can't even show up? No authority can be conferred on god unless you can prove god to begin with. You can't.

    leaving wt,

I didn't say that it was easy to accept. The issue is whether or not God will judge sinners. Watchtower vehemently says NO. Atheists say NO. Some "believers" say NO. The bible says for a certainty YES.

Hell s not the final destination, it is a temporary place of confinement for the condemned. When Jesus told the account of the Rich Man and Lazarus, the Rich man was not roasting over a fire pit. But, he was hot. There were flames around him....he was VERY uncomfortable.

Now for a man like Hitler who really did roast millions of people, perhaps he is justly in the fire, himself. I don't know, its not my business.

After, the Great White Throne judgment, "all liars" are cast into the Lake of Fire. Perhaps, this really is annilhiation. I don't know that for sure either.

The point of my rather lenghty post at the beginning, is to illustrate the great lenghts that the Watchtower has gone to hide the biblical doctrines of the condition of the dead and the need for a Mediator to intervene for us.

People can form whatever opinion they want. Only instead of being lied to like we were in the Kindom Hall, we can now see the actual biblical warning, and if we reject it, at least we know what we are rejecting.
