Booby is right - As a good witness youth, you have nothing. No personality, career, hobbies, friends of your own choosing. You are a prisoner in your parents home and the congregation. Everyone watching you to see if you'll "make the truth your own" and once you do, don't you dare mess up! You are so absolutely trying to figure out a way to get some space to breath that you can hardly see straight. Sadly, the only approved route for most young JWs is marriage.
By the time a lot of born ins marry they are so sexually repressed that sex is the last thing on their minds. I know so many JW couples who "went to the elders" after their weddings b/c they were so guilt-ridden for having engaged in uncleanness!!! Not even fornication, just having touched their gf/bf while dating. They thought b/c they were having sexual problems that that was the reason......so so sad. It never occurs to them that the problems stem from a lifetime of being told how bad and dirty sex is for you. Your sexuality has been taken from you and put on display for Jehovah, Satan, your parents and the congregation to scrutinize........sickos! How can a man/woman bond sexually under that type of repression?
Those masturbation chapters in the YPA book were absolutely ridiculous. The simplistic views on dating and marriage were even worse. But of course it's only after you have married and struggled for a while that you hopefully get a clue and can start to take back (good point flipper) some type of healthy sexuality for yourself.

Heck JWs aren't even suppose to hold hands, kiss or hug until the marriage is being planned (ie engaged)

I'm sorry, but that whole thing makes me want to go put that European made (in the Netherlands) four way porn on my DVD player and watch it. (can't understand a word they're saying, but the subtitles are hilarious!)
First thing I did when I faded, went out and bought a bunch of porn on DVD. Nothing horrible, no animals or anything S&M, but I wanted to see what I was missing.

yeah, they can even whackup a marriage, for instance, one partner is fading or not reaching out and due to his cooling off, the other one loses her desire because it's all based how well you serve the borg. way to go whacking up a perfectly good marriage that's sexually healthy.

Why spend so much time and energy trying to convince people that there is a loving God and then turn around and spend even more time and energy trying to convince them that virtually everything he created is complete and utter shit? If God exists and loves us, surely not all human endeavours outside of Bethel and pioneering are satanic wastes of time.

Hey, I know some pretty sexy atheists!
But, yeah, when you're 50, you need a bit of booze and some porn to get things going. I need all the help I can get.
My husband and I always very deliberately ignored what the WTS said about sex...we always both thought it was total crap, although we kept our opinions about that to ourselves...but I know plenty of other Witnesses who do too. I never taught that junk to my kids either, thankfully.
Mostly because it just wasn't backed up by my medical studies...I figured they just had it wrong.
