Jeff, I'm a leftie (I know shocking huh?) but I am dead set against illegal immigration as are many lefties. The reason is American wages and labor. And I put the blame at the feet of employers. Business and the Government have done nothing on this issue. Right or left.

Beks, the problem with the Left on this issue isn't the morality, its the dim level of pragmaticism on this issue. (don't get excited BTS) I sense that the Left would rather do nothing then to have to throw people out or tighten border policies.

Again, I think those sins aren't as bad as the racial profiling law in AZ. (I know we agree on that).

See Jeff, I think your description of the left on this issue, actually comes from the right. I think it's propaganda. The right has had even more opportunity to address the issue, and the most they've done is a massive amnesty under Reagan 30 years ago.
