IMHO, the ultimate problem is one of AUTHORITY. It's an authoritarian organization. They insist that they are right, even when they are wrong (as later admissions prove). Therefore, members must worship how they say worship, despite the Scriptures/evidence/reality.
All of the other problems stem from this central problem.

If the BORG had just said "We're on a search for Truth and the meaning of life." and dedicated themselves and the organization to this pursuit and followed it fearlessly no matter what the facts might show, then I'd still be there.
But they are cowards. They're just like the pharisees who said of Jesus. "If we leave this man alone, they will come and take away our place and our nation."
LWT is right, the self-proclaimed authority is the point from which all other problems stem.

6. False doctrine. (generation, 144k, blood, etc)
7. Critical, independant thinking is not allowed. (No outside research material can be used if found critical of WTS)
8. Invasion of privacy. (Encouraged to spy and report on fellow members)
9. Disfellowshipping. (Act of cruelty)
10. They are not a happy people.
They are a religion.
So far I'm hearing a liiiiiittle bit of negativity towards the Gibbering Baddy. Quite interesting. It's totally different to the first things that came off the top of my head, which was a lack of love. I'm talking with reference to the main over-riding feeling that pushed me over the edge TO START WITH when the niggling little doubts set in. All the other stuff on the list I had, came later a bit with a little more thought.
Is this still the same answer for you guys? I'm kind of referring to the very seed, germ, or spark of doubt which manifested itself in your mind in the very beginning while you were a practising J-W.
Of course, where I am RIGHT NOW is exactly the same as you lot. The whole nub of the argument can be boiled down to that one single problem, a bunch of senile old guys with no balls who can't admit they were wrong, and that they're not inspired by god.

Yes, lack of love and a lack of real caring was a factor. I was treated quite well, as I've stated otherwise, but I knew that plenty of people had been screwed over by people in positions of authority.

IMHO there is ONE reason JWs don't have the truth, all the other reasons are peripheral.
