If anyone here had any real insight and understanding of the subject at hand, they wouldn't depend on the observations of others to spell out the truth. The critics reviews are often bias.

If anyone's at all concerned, why not provide the information being studied, instead of the opinion of someone that's studied it? That's what I'd like to see.

Spade: "why not provide the information being studied,", such as scans of tablets?

    Dear Spade,

If the secular history is rubbish then the fall of babylon in 539BCE and return of Jews 537 BCE (WTS point of view) is also rubbish!

    Spade,

You say: rubbish + Bible info = truth hahahahah LOL

    Spade,

I don't understand what you are trying to argue or defend here. Although, I have to tell you that your comment, "The Hebrew text of the Jewish Bible, the original Semitic language found in the Masoretic text can be interpreted in different ways" sounds alarmingly Furulian! LOL! Anyway ...

Are you trying to defend the JW teaching on Dan. 4?

Or are you arguing that the JW interpretation is just as valid as any other interpretation?

Are you arguing that the Bible (and its various translations) is a fiddle you can play any old tune on?

You don't believe in a higher power: are you uncertain about the validity of science and history too?

Can you clarify? It's hard to determine what your objections to the points raised on this thread really are.

If anyone here had any real insight and understanding of the subject at hand, they wouldn't depend on the observations of others to spell out the truth. The critics reviews are often bias.

A sweeping generalization. You know about 'bias' in this case ... how, exactly? Have you examined the subject at hand?

If anyone's at all concerned, why not provide the information being studied, instead of the opinion of someone that's studied it? That's what I'd like to see.

You may have missed it, but the information being studied is available from Eisenbrauns and elsewhere if you wish to get your own copy and follow along. Reviews of that information are available online for your assessment when you're ready. There are many academic resources available to you on the net and, I'm sure, from your library. At the bottom of Hunger's Review, there is a list of reference works to get you started in helping you to form your own opinion on the information being studied.

At long last you have had your memory refreshed concerning my comments on the English transalation of VAT 4956. Such astonishment on your part is simply apostate desperation, the clutching of straws. There was and remains no need for me to do anything. The Bible alone disproves the chronology based on this document but as research moves ever so slowly then I will continue to do what and when it pleases me not you.

My reply: Wow some big words for a little boy. Of course a lie is in their as well...as the Bible supports 586/7 as the date for Jerusalem's destruction, and 607 does not work. Go back to the drawing board Neil.

    @ Scholar:

Perhaps you missed my earlier post...

Can you please post the specific Bible verses that prove "the reality of the Babylonian Gap"? No commentary needed -- just the books, chapters, and verses.

    Thank you.
