Can anyone come up with a morally acceptable reason for waiting thousands of years to end wickedness?

Nope. If this is God's way of teaching us a lesson, it is very cruel.

Genesis 18:23-26 (and on) Then Abraham approached him and said: "Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing - to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?"

The LORD said, "if I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake."

    etc,etc

Exactly. You should be thankful that you were born into a Christian land. This will spare you from Hell. You've won the lottery.

How would a god or 'mighty one' end wickedness? If wickedness reoccurs then the god has failed to end wickedness.

If the god acts again and the method involves extinguishing more lives on earth and in heaven, then the god's action would be part of the problem and not the solution.

You people are hilarious!!! Have to admit, as I approach 50, though was in expectation since I was 16 that I might not be in this system past 30, all sorts of doubts and concerns have arisen in my mind. I have friends dying now, from cancer, heart attacks, etc.. so this whole anticipation (love the pic with the birds!!) is almost a wee bit cruel.

Not that I'm saying I'm a truly morally upright person that would just waltz into the new system but when I see my parents in their late 70s, who also were told it would be imminent, my heart breaks each time though they still ardently believe in the "new system". I do understand the challenge Satan proposed to Jehovah and the 1000 years as one day comparison, however, would be nice if like at least some sign were given that people are on the right track and God really is feeling what they are feeling day to day (e.g. shadow going back up the steps when Hezekiah asked for 15 more years of life).

Seems like we are sort of on our own and will die eventually in ignorance not knowing what really was "The Way" or what will come after us or our disposition at death until we actually experience it though we can't let our friends/family know what we've foudn after death, if anything at all.

If wickedness originated with Satan and his following legions of wicked spirits, when they are destroyed by Yahweh,

whose to say that some other angels wont turn wicked since they too are identical to Satan ?

One must apply a degree of logic to all rational thought.

Yes, sir. We're all going to die and we're the lucky ones to have ever been born, in the first place.
