    Acts 2:24 (New International Version)

24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

    Acts 2:32 (New International Version)

32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it.

    Acts 3:15 (New International Version)

15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

    Acts 4:10 (New International Version)

10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.

    Acts 5:30 (New International Version)

30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross.

    Acts 10:40 (New International Version)

40 but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen.

    Acts 13:30 (New International Version)

30 But God raised him from the dead

    Acts 13:34 (New International Version)

34 God raised him from the dead so that he will never be subject to decay. As God has said,

“‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.’

    Acts 13:37 (New International Version)

37 But the one whom God raised from the dead did not see decay.

That's just Acts! Plenty more in the New Testament.

I believe Jesus raised Himself. I have no issue with Jesus' words but then I also believe this.

    John 1:1 (New International Version)

    The Word Became Flesh

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

    With love,

    Stephen

It really is only an issue if one views Christ and God as seperate entities with no inter-relation, much less union.

We are, afterall, talking about the ressurection of Christ's body, NOT his spirit.

If God did what he had always done and that is work through His Word, then God ressurected the body of Christ through His Word, through the HS of Jesus.

Thank you Stephen. En fin, mon Ami. It was God that raised Jesus from the dead and the Word was WITH God.

Ipso facto, you can't be WITH someone and be that person, n'est-ce pas?

You are aware that the Trinity does NOT say that Jesus is God the Father, but that Jesus is God, the son, right?

I am aware that there are many definitions of the "Trinity". Clearly you cannot be WITH someone if you are the very same person.

Take the "Trinity" out of the equation and the Bible becomes very straight forward. No Chaldean, Hellenic demonic doctrine to pollute it.

Back to discussion. Jesus did not resurrect himself, his/our Father did.

    How did God do that?

The same way he did everything else perhaps?

And how was that done? through His Word, ie: His Son.

    Podobear,

The Trinity doctrine does NOT teach that Jesus and the Father are the same person.

You may be thinking of Sabellianism, which is a nontrinitarian teaching.

In John 2:19-21 Jesus says that if they destroy the temple of his body, he will raise it up.

Why doesn't this mean what it says?:

    1. Jesus will raise himself from the dead

    2. Jesus' body will be raised from the dead.

Merely repeating the Watchtower teaching doesn't make it biblical.

P.S and Ding... that is not what the list of Scriptures quoted by Think About It and Stephen say.. don't twist the obvious.

God raised Jesus from the dead... not Jesus himself... Jesus DIED for us. Anything else is pure heresy.

    Podo,

What temple was Jesus speaking of in John 2:19-21?

Ding: Please read back to page 4... the only reasonable explanation offered here is from ThinkaboutIt... Thanks to this poster for the effort put in.

Stephen too has graciously published verbatim the definitive answer.

God raised Jesus from the dead. How would you like to interpret this obvious statement?

No problem from the Scriptural viewpoint...just argument from those trying to fit nebulous doctrine into it!
