Moshe,
Can you tell us a little more about this DNA testing? Where does a person go to have that done? What is the cost? Do they have a profile of DNA of all groups to compare yours to. It's very interesting.
Thanks,

Moshe: Thank you very much for answering my questions. I appreciate it.
Wow! Your discovery opens up some very interesting studies for you and your family history.
I have another question, if you don't mind my asking. Why is it that Jews call their synagogues "temples"? If my understanding is correct, temples are buildings wherein a god resides (be it the true God or any false god). With all due respect, sir, the last Judaic "temple" wherein God resided was destroyed as you already well know, I'm sure. It has never been rebuilt. How are synagogues "temples"? Is it just a "name" with no real substance to the meaning of the word applied to synagogue?
Thank you, sir.

www.familytreedna.com did my tests-
As far as the reasons for Jews using temple or synagogue, those answers can be found using a simple google seach.
Thanks Moshe. I'll check it out.
Former Jehovah's Witnesses..... becomes a Jewish Rabbi !
Well good for him!
Do you know the one real requirement I had to meet to convert to a Jew? (besides being circumcised) I had to proclaim that their is only one true G-d. That's it, for the rest of my life. Being Jewish is what you make of it. Want to wear a black hat and walk to Temple every Sabbath? You can find a group to be with. Want to be a Humanist Jew who wants to make the world a better, safer, kinder place? You can embrace that variety of Judaism, too. Want to be an activist who works for peace? You can find Jews who share the same goals.
That's what I like about Judaism. I'll be going to a local temple two Saturday's from now. A friend of mine's daughter is having her Bat Mitzvah.

I find it amazing that people of other religions want to convert to Judaism. That religion has nothing but rules, rituals, laws and traditions and never answered my questions about God, the Bible, Adam and Eve or the Messiah. It never made me feel close to God. I have no interest in man-made laws and opinions and you are given different interpretations on things depending on whether you are conservative ( my parents) or orthadox ( my grandparents, my aunts, uncles and cousins) or Hasidic, or reconstructionist, etc. I guess I feel towards the Jewish religion ( which I never would have chosen) what many of you who were born into the JW religion feel regarding 'The Truth".
I never imagined any of Jehovah's Witnesses would give up that religion to join the Jewish religion. This is amazing to me. But for Moshe and anyone else who does find contentment, satisfaction and happiness in the Jewish religion I am happy for you. I'm just surprised anyone would want to join it!
I could not see myself returning to Judaism, just like I can not imagine ever being a JW again. If what I wrote sounds harsh I'm sorry. I was brought up in the Jewish religion and did not like it. So I am going by my own personal experiences in it. Just as you born in JWs who left the "truth" don't understand why someone would choose to become a witness I have trouble seeing the appeal Judaism has for people of other religions...
Well, factfinder, I respect your opinion, but we all find different paths after leaving the Witnesses. Judaism provides a great deal of value for some people, and I can understand that. Reformed Jews, by the way, aren't so hung up on rules, as I am sure you know.

Moshe: I thought it was just as "simple" to ask you too. I guess not. Anyway, I will do the Google search as you suggest. Thanks. --Inkie
@BurnTheShips- I guess you are right, for some Judaism is a satisfying religion to be in. Actually none of my relatives are (were) reform Jews so I am not too familiar with that version of Judaism.
