im done with this thread. if your not willing to listen to other, but have to force an unreasonable position onto them to make your own argument easier -- well i think you should reflect on how that make you look.

Atheist: someone who denies the existence of god
Hey, Dan, that is certainly an undeniable single-entry dictionary definition for atheist. But you don't accept the same for "Christian"?
From merriam-webster - Christian: 1. one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ
Silly, cyberjesus, Mormons aren't Christians.
Fail, Dan. They do "profess belief in the teachings of JC". Therefore, by definition, they are Christians.
.... That is, unless you choose to go by other criteria as to what constitutes a Christian.
If that is the case then you should allow the same flexibility for the definition of atheist... by an atheist.
An atheist may, in the broadest sense, reject belief in the existence of God. For example, one person might say, "God absolutely does not exist." Another might say, "I personally see no reason to believe in any gods." Both could be considered atheists.
Would you think Richard Dawkins to be an atheist? Why would he include the words "almost certainly" in his essay below?

Every time I read more arguments between "Christians" about which ones are the true ones, the more it makes me want to become a Buddhist. *sigh*
