You are in error. on two accounts, dear one. First, it was not God's wrath that called for appeasing: it was the price for sin that DEATH exacts. A life... for a life. Death was supposed to haveYOUR life... and mine... and all of mankind's. Because Adham sold that right TO Death. He sold us into sin... and to Death. Someone had to pay the price to buy us all back, right? And we HAD to be bought back. But YOU couldn't do it. I can't do it. Who, then? That those who chose to put my Lord to death did so SO heinously is not the doing of the Father. You still have a wt inspired, unbiblical understanding of the death of Jesus, but since Jesus tells you pesonally your own unique gospel I will leave you to it.

Tammy, thanks for responding to my post. Like cofty I still struggle to understand how you can piece together you beliefs, partly from the bible and partly from communicating with a spirit, in this case Jesus.
There are many cases of people sincerely believing in invisible beings and hearing their voice. My mother was a spirit medium for many years. She claimed to be threatened by demons for years until she became a JW. Then Jehovah's spirit kept them at bay. The demons ignored my father.
I once sat with a woman who told me that we all have a guardian angel. She could see mine standing behind me. We had been knights in a previous life. We fought together and I saved his life. Apparently the bond between us was strong and he had been watching over me since my birth. He protected me to show his gratitude. She told me many details as he relayed them to her.
Why didn't he protect me from my violent mother? I asked.
He is shaking his head and looks very sad. She replied
I said, 'Whenever I phone my bank they ask me a few security questions to make sure I am genuine. To be sure you aren't making this up, could you ask the knight to tell you my mother's maiden name. If the knight can, I will know this is genuine.
She looked passed me for a while before speaking in a faint voice. 'He is fading we are losing him.
What happend? I asked.
He has told me he will not be put to the test.
Then why didn't the knight tell me that himself?
You can only hear him if you believe in him!
There we are Tammy. I have no doubt that this woman believed she was genuine and probably believed she saw a knight. But sincerity and faith do not in themselves make a belief true. My concern is that you are placing a great deal of trust and building your life around something that to me and many others is illusory.
Nowadays, I try not to get involved in heavy debate with Christians on this site. I have no desire to cause anyone to lose something they value. On the other hand to say nothing would be remiss.
All the best Trevor

I'm not trying to debate you at all, Trevor; just share some things that I believe, or try to explain when asked. I do not think for an instant that what I share about my thoughts can convince anyone to believe as I believe. I have no proof for anyone, and I do not hear as Shelby hears. (though I do not believe that it would matter to anyone except for me, if I did) I feel, I trust, I try and apply the things I know in one area about the nature of Christ and God to all other areas. Christ is always the 'bottom line' for me. He shows us as His Father truly is, regardless of anything anyone else ever said or wrote about God.
I enjoy speaking with you, hearing your views and sharing mine. I think you are kind and respectful and caring of others' needs. I don't think your feathers have been ruffled (and I would not wish for them to be), and if you're at all worried about mine, know that they have not been ruffled either.

I'm just glad Jesus blessed the wachowski brothers to make a movie that would inspire those who hear God's voice to share lines from this science fiction ass-kicking violent movie to help us all love baby jesus. Praise the Lord - shoot the bad guys.

"You have to let it ALL go, Neo: fear... doubt... and disbelief. Free... YOUR mind." - Morpheus
To believers, letting go of disbelief is a one-way street. They feel that it only applies to unbelievers in God, miracles, stuff like that. They want to say that they are the ones who won't "let go." By far, it is believers that won't "let go" of something.
Let go of your disbelief in everything, including the disbelief in even the possibility that there must be an all-knowing, omnibenevolent, omnipresent being. Start from scratch and see where you go with the evidence. -

since Jesus tells you pesonally your own unique gospel I will leave you to it.
Yes, that's the reason, of course, dear Cofty, sure. Peace to you, anyway, dear one.

Now, where did you get that Christ "blessed" the Wachowski Brothers in this way, dear JIFM (peace to you!)? Certainly not from me. There are all kinds of things said that are "wise." Since Christ IS Wisdom, I am more inclined to be believe that the Wachowski Brothers heard/read the line somewhere, saw the wisdom... and potential for a great movie... in it... and so created a story... and movie trilogy... around it. So, what? Artists do that all the time. Heck, home decorators do it.

For some who call themselves believers, that is absolutely true, Jer. For true believers, there really is no problem. Fear is what keeps people from looking "beyond." True believers don't have that fear - they will not only say to you, "Okay, bring it on," but even "Please explain/help me understand what you're saying." Unfortunately, those who are asked to do so tend to do what many of the so-called "believers" do, which is to say, "Oh, you won't believe me anyway - I can't make you see/accept what I believe - so I won't bother." Which says to ME... they don't really know/believe what THEY say they know/believe, either. They, too, have some doubt.
By far, it is believers that won't "let go" of something.
So-called believers, yes. You are absolutely right. Their fear won't LET them. What fear? The fear of "losing" God. A TRUE believer isn't concerned with that because they know God won't be "lost" for them. So, they WILL listen and entertain what others have to say. Problem comes in, though, when they don't BUY it... just like those who don't buy what "religion" is selling don't buy that.Let go of your disbelief in everything, including the disbelief in even the possibility that there must be an all-knowing, omnibenevolent, omnipresent being.
They should! Because such a being doesn't exist (well, the omnibenevolent/omnipresent part).
Start from scratch and see where you go with the evidence.
And just what is "scratch"? I ask because I would venture that even you didn't start there, that you yourself haven't known "scratch" (in so long) so as to start there. "Scratch" is where little children are... BEFORE all that man puts "in" us has taken hold. And most of us can't go back there. MOST of us... but not all of us. Some of us HAVE been granted to become "as little children" AGAIN.
I would exhort YOU... go back... and really start from "scratch"... and see where YOU "go."
Peace to you all!

Ok then little miss sarcasm, why is your explanation soteriology identical to that of the watchtower and completely disregards the central theme of the work of christ which is vicarious punishment, blood sacrifice and propitiation?

Cofty: By all means abandon your disbelief for the duration of a movie but pick it up again at the door. Scepticism is a virtue.
Cofty, you're going to sit at the right hand of my god's throne for this post.

Oh poor child dear AG (Anarchy to you!) - If you want to quote fiction movies of violence and link them to your fictional gods inside your mind, all based on a violent fictional Jewish book with it's God of violence - be my guest. Don't worry, you don't need crazy pills, you're doing just fine, dear honey child. I will just sit here and appease you and talk to you like a normal person that should in no way be in an asylum. Oh you sweet hallucinator you - connecting pop culture to your frame of mind always helps the chemical imbalances push away your reality.
Please - do yourself a favor. Go see a professional therapist that deals with hallucinations. You don't accept help here, so why not get some real help.
In the meantime, enjoy this image of Jesus based on your connection to pop culture and modern violent movies:
