  Speaking of mental problems . . . one of my family suffered a severe mental breakdown because his teenage friend suicided owing to being singled out by an elder who had a lifelong grudge against his father . . . nice man.

  As a result within a month of obtaining professional psychiatric help, the whole family was being shunned . . . that's right . . . completely disowned and spoken of abusively. My younger children were told by other children in the congregation that they couldn't play together because our family was "living in a muddy puddle" . . . I have never seen pure hatred by some, just surface from nowhere.

  If hearing a conflicting viewpoint is painful to you . . . Spade . . . the only thing your viewpoint conflicts with is "the truth" and it is YOU who cannot stand the pain . . . you can be nothing greater than a sad deluded fool with your insistence otherwise.

  I suspect Spade has never cleaned a KH toilet . . . I recall a degree of spiritual maturity is required in order to qualify for such a priviledge

  It's a fine line, a gamble, a judgment call. Some will be able to drift from the congregation, into obscurity, be free to live their lives and be able to have normal interaction with any JW family and friends. Others who try to fade attract attention, are pursued, and questions are asked. In the latter scenario, the person will either have to obfuscate, lie or be straight-talking. Being straight-talking ultimately leads to DFing or DAing and loss of JW family and friends (also in many cases livelihoods, if they are in JW-based businesses). Obfuscating and/or lying (apart from playing hell with your conscience and personal integrity) leads to walking the tightrope between reclaiming as much 'life' as you can and yet not drawing unwanted attention from JWs closest to you that could lead to DFing or DAing.

  Those are the cards the JW org. deals out.

  You have my sympathy elderelite. Married during the '75 scare. Didn't love her but figured I would learn to in the coming new system. Ha Ha Ha. A GB joke on us. (Oh & thanks for the heartfelt apology.) Suffered for the next 34 yrs. Got sick of her addictions, left & remarried a wonderful girl. Of course got disfellowshipped, but even at that time was looking to be reinstated. Mercifully the committee wanted to teach me a lesson of how much Jehovah hates a divorcing. ( He must be OK with hypocrisy, lies & murder.) Enough time went by for me to start searching for answers. After realizing the truth, I called them up & told them I wasn't coming back. My kids are adults with one still in. She rarely talks to me & I understand. I tried talking to old friends & realized that was fruitless. I left them behind & now look forward. Some day you will too. Hang in there.

  Sorry, not to beat a dead horse, but i just realized you questioned wether or not i am an elder.. Believe me not a day goes by that i wish i wasnt but sadly for now it is true, at least those that saw me do a part on the service meeting think i am...reality though is that wether i am or not you have refuted absolutly nothjng because you are a fraud. Maybe though this will help someone somewhere understand the real cost of jw baptism and make them think twice as they read all the experiances posted here..

  hey spade, how would you explain your avatar use to jesus or jehovah?

  the spade is a playing card symbol that has massive use "in the world" especially associated with gambling and poker and such. how would you justify your use of it "witnessing" to us? i think you might get a stern talking to from jesus on the whole pagan symbology used in his good name. your an idiot for not thinking about your avatar here "as one of gods people defending the truth".

  and then there's alice in wonderland. drug use, magic and pure fantasy. this is not upbuilding subject matter for "a witness of jehovah". how would you explain that one to jesus or jehovah? foolish. but foolishness is tied up in the heart of the inexperianced one. but the rod of discipline will remove it.

  your not doing a very good job of witnessing here. i'd say you are failing in jesus and jehovah's eyes. have you managed to "drag anyone out of the fire"? if you don't start to produce fruit, you will be tossed into the fire. do more research on your doctrine. get to know it personally. intimatly. prove you are correct. become a "tool for jehovah".

  good luck. if you really pay attention to the things you learn, you may find the secret to life.....
