What a nasty little cult. I'm sure that they are getting panicked and nastier to try to hold on to their members. I don't remember ever seeing such strong direction that children of that age should get baptized.

There will definitely be children of the same age as the poor child displayed in these pictures whose parents are JWs and who is not baptized. I can imagine the guilt they will feel at reading this article.

What about the dumb-ass experiences of those who got baptised and didn't regret it? What about those who did regret it? We don't see those experiences!!

I noticed that this article in a typical way is devious and illogical. It is trying to encourage children to get baptized and explains the qualifications. But nearly all JW children would meet those qualifications. They are actually saying, if you meet these, not that you may get baptised, but that you should get baptized.

Check this contradiction, in the first few paragraphs we read this:

Christian parents have reason to be overjoyed when their children get baptized, but sometimes the joy is ccompanied by uneasiness. “I was very happy and very anxious,” said one mother. Why the mixed emotions? “I understood that my son was now fully accountable to Jehovah.”

Then a little later it says this:

I fear that if my child gets baptized, he might later fall into serious sin and get disfellowshipped.

Is it reasonable to believe that a young person who puts off baptism will not be accountable to God for his conduct? Solomon directed the following words to young ones: “Know that on account of [your actions] the true God will bring you into judgment.” (Eccl. 11:9) And with no exception as to age, Paul gave this reminder: “Each of us will render an account for himself to God.”—Rom. 14:12. Both baptized and unbaptized worshippers are accountable to God.

So which is it? Are you accountable even if you get baptized, or not? Does anyone there proofread this at all? I guess they say a GB member reads everything before it is approved, that must be the problem!

    Atlantis,

In that article you posted, it says this:

"A witness in Greece said, "I was baptised when I was 12 years old. I have never regretted my decision. Since then 24 years have passed, 23 of which I have spent in the full-time service.....""

This person started in full-time service when they were 13????

    Great post "Lost Generation"

And with no exception as to age, Paul gave this reminder: "Each of us will render an account for himself to God."-Rom. 14:12. Both baptized and unbaptized worshippers are accountable to God.

That's great news! If we are accountable regardless if we are baptised are not, then why would you get baptised and risk getting DF'd???? At least you have the peace of mind that when your values and outlook changes from when you were a few years shy of a toddler when you got baptised, (yes you will change, it is a strange metamorphoses known as puberty) you will not be shunned and lose your family forever. These WT articles continually contradict themselves, I think since the old guard has died the new writing committee is extremely lazy!
