Articles like these show exactly why they split off the kool-aid WT from the one for general distribution....

Here's another example of the WT Society targeting children for coercive recruitment.

Children this young should not get baptized. They are making a commitment to do something they don't have the tools to understand. No fornication--this might sound easy for someone that is under 10--certainly this is not an object while a child is 6. But, once they hit 12 or so, things are going to change--possibly in a big hurry. Plus, a person under 21 cannot understand what this is going to do in terms of stagnation and making themselves poor.
Yes, they might claim that such a decision should be as easy as mine to buy silver was. However, silver doesn't have much cost--you pay for the ounce(s) of silver you buy, and hold onto it. No other commitment, no other rules. A 6 year old should be able to commit to this (assuming they want to)--yet, with all the complex rules of being a witless, no one can possibly commit that young. Yet, I wonder what a coin dealer would do if a 6 year old were to come into the place with $40 and request an ounce of silver--even with no additional commitment. If a 6 year old cannot buy silver without a parent, then why the fxxx are they allowed to get baptized and commit to a lifetime of slavery?

The thing that is really psychotic about this article is how they make this kid look. As mentioned, there is no way he is older than 12. The first set of pictures has studying his magazine and then commenting at the meeting.
The next set has him vacuuming his room, (fine kids should have some work to do) but then he is hawking magazines in the next scene. Then they show him in some sort of intensive prayer pose. Finally, the baptism picture is next.
WHEN DOES THIS KID GET TO BE A KID?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?
They are trying to turn these kids into adults way before they should have to even THINK about being an adult! When does this kid play? Do his homework? Lay on the couch and watch Sponge Bob for an hour? Play with his dog? Build a model car? Shoot hoops at the playground?
These cultists are so intent on trapping people into their sham of an organization for life that they are willing to sacrifice the innocent!
Nice business model Watchtower, make them into little mini adults before they even hit their teens, then they won't leave. Sorry WT, you are sick and wrong, people are going to keep leaving because they see what a scam you are running.

There was an article: Who Were the Anabaptists from 6/15/04 WT says, "But what characterized their faith more than anything else, clearly distinguishing Anabaptists from other religions, was the conviction that baptism was for adults and not for children.
Adult baptism was not simply a question of religious dogma; it was an issue of power. If baptism was delayed until adulthood - thus allowing a person to make a decision based on faith - some might not get baptized at all. And individuals not baptized would, at least to a degree, remain outside the control of the church. For some churches, adult baptism meant a loss of power.
Hence, Catholics and Lutherans alike wanted to discourage the practice of adult baptism."

This is so awful! I was baptized at 9 years old. It was a huge mistake. I blame my parents, and also the overbearing Circuit Overseer who pushed for it. The worst part is that if a person has the audacity to change their minds when they are adults, they are punished for it. It is extremely illogical and irrational that an organization would suggest that children make life altering decisions. This is one of the main things that infuriate me about JWs.
I just read part of the article that was posted. It's not surprising, but such a shame that the "Society" is still pushing people away from education and financially stability. I guess it's better for their members to be poor and uneducated. UGHHH!
