I have a confession to make. I don't have a strong feeling either way regarding the Trinity. I'm just bored today, and was looking for some kind of action on here. Plus its been a while since we've had a Trinity thread.

MLE,
Before you get in too deep, re-read what Outlaw has posted.
Just as the WTS misrepresents what the theory of evolution states, and then shoots that misrepresentation down, they likewise misrepresent what the trinity doctrine is, and then shoot that down.
It's called a "strawman argument" - google or wiki it if you are unfamiliar with the term.
I don't have a dog in this fight, but I do know enough to be able to see how the WTS misrepresents its opponents' viewpoint.
Think about it this way - The WTS misrepresents virtually everything they write about - blood, birthdays, holidays, the cross, higher education, masturbation, the list goes on and on...why do you think they accurately represent what trinity believers really believe?
William Shatner eats well, drinks well and lives wel, he has a grea sense of humour, doesn't take himself too seriously and knows what is what.
Lucky bastard.
As for the Trinity, I don't much care what people think or don't about it, whether they agree with it or not, to each their own.
Just don't want people to think that it is what the JW's say it isbecause it isn't.
Their trinity doctrine is like their blood doctrine- pulled out of their ass.
OMG, not another Trinity debate!
Just like the Christ is an energy, we're talking about three energies! Everything emanates from the One.
Does white light contain all the colors of the spectrum? Can they be "one" and also "separate" at the same time? Yes, they can.
The Trinity originates with Kabbalah, as does the entire Bible. By the time the Othodox, exoteric Christian doctrine was invented, everything mystical got corrupted and twisted into ridiculous physical explanations and doctrines. Esoteric things cannot be converted to exoteric without losing something. The Catholic encyclopedia says it's "incomprehensible to human intelligence". So, why not go straight to the source? Why try to learn Hebrew from an Italian?

If you accept the Watchtower's strawman interpetation then I can see why you feel that way. Things can't aways be explaind or refuted by simple math such as 1+1+1=3 not 1. Quantum Mechanics has shown us that even if you don't believe in God the universe we live in is much stranger than we ever would have imagine.
If you wish do a little deeper study into the subject there is lots of information out there. One book I really enjoyed on the subject was Science and The Trinity by John Polkinghorne. He is physicist and an Angican Priest so he is well verse both on science and religion.
