JWs don't automatically get treated badly here. Dan seems very sincere and sincere people don't usually get the cold shoulder. You could have said, "Hey, this site started out an active JW site and now it's a mix of active, inactive, dfd, etc. Don't take people who are rude very seriously."

Welcome, mr edmund. You seem very well balanced, and an individual thinker. You seem to take take things as they are presented, ergo the book on paradise conditions. That is rather cool. I was somewhat like that, as a jw. It eventually led me to where i am today. Perhaps, you're not as radical as i was or am, though.

Doing the right thing in each situation is still an ideal of mine. Also, i recognise the universal brotherhood, the god present in each human. It's too bad that the watchtower sees it only among it's most ardent followers, all the rest of humanity and many animals as collateral damage to be destroyed soon, by it's god. The earthly paradise, should humans be capable of acheiving it, will be a long time coming, certainly not in our time. Huge advances have and are being made, though. Interestingly, very little of it from jws, almost all from the science sector and social movements.

I also am an ex JW, disassociated in absence by the dishonest ass holes that masqueraded as elders in my then cong many years ago, all because I voiced statements that were contrary to WTS policy at the time and was charged with Apostasy! yet the irony is that some years later the WTS reverted to the very doctrines that I voiced should be so I ask my self WTF is the Apostate? well it must be The WTS!.
You say that you believe that JW's are doing the right thing , well sadly Dan one of the very many reasons folks like ourselves leave the WTS is because of the very reason that the R&F are not doing the right things , I found members of my cong showed personality traits and moral values far worse then the so called members of the "world" and your WTS dreadful child abuse scandal still sees baby rapists and abusers still in fact abusing and being left unpunished by the WTS policy, my own former congregation has it's own resident predatory paedophile a piece of shit by the name of Micheal Porter he had a particular fondness for raping baby boys while he baby sat for members of his own congs parents,yet if I walked into my own cong any day I would be shunned and ignored while this non person is greeted like some kind of hero! fucked up don't you think?
I see you have commented on the hope /fantasy of this so called Paradise Earth that mankind has a hope for, many of us also decided to leave the WTS as we found this hope is nothing more then a religious fraud perpetuated from Crooklyn and has very little scriptural evidence supporting it, you and the WTS promote a belief that there will be a resurrection of ones who die in this so called wicked system to a paradise cleansed Earth? did you know there is not 1 single scripture from any Bible not even The New World Mistranslation that supports this? stick around Dan you will certainly learn from here.

Hello Dan and welcome to the board. It sounds as if you have an interesting life, and are happy with your choice
I respect that. The jw couple that I respect most, told me that "even if it is not "the truth", they have had a happy life themselves in pursuing that course.
I have followed the conversation above with interest. It is true that we dont want to scare you away, saying we are largely considered " apostates" according to the WTBS precepts.
We are in fact normal friendly peolpe, who have our own point of view.
However, I think it is also good and to be up front, and not hide who we are. Jws are not always like that, in my opinion.
Anyway, Dan, most everyone here, I'm sure, wishes you and your wife every happiness in your chosen way.
