Apologists are welcome here, as long as they stick to the rules of debate

Surely this goes both ways? I could point to many examples where someone is labelled a troll after making only 1 or 2 posts because people disagree with them.

Sometimes we get people here who only want to rile people up and pop in and out of threads making off topic comments etc but there are many times when new people are not even given the chance to have a debate because some people take offense over their first post and they are labelled from that point on.

I just think some of you get too sensitive. I can understand that from the ladies, but from you guys? Come on, really? REALLY? REAAAAAAAAAALLLLY?

Sorry, dear Jay (peace to you!)... but I think the LACK of communication... is one of the greatest problems of this world. People don't say what they mean... and often don't mean what they say. Rather, they say 2-3 words, but expect you to "get" that they actually meant a chapter... or say 2-3 words and when you DO "get" it (of course, you got it), say "That's not what I [really] meant" ('cause they didn't really want you to get it).

I hate that... so I say what I mean. All of it. So that there's no (or very little) misunderstanding. Sorry 'bout that.

    Peace!

There needs to be a dedicated section on the Site for such discussion, let's call it The Algonquin Circle.

Mudwrestleing and donnybrooks can happen elsewhere...........

Only way to avoid heated topics is to not discuss religion or politics.

Like you Terry, who in your first response to me, called me silly and fatous. Hypocrite.

This is not about sensitivity (Red Herring). This is about productive debate. Telling people to F* off and insulting them does nopt prove a point, though it does point to the fact that you likely don't have a strong enough argument, so you have to resort to personal attacks.
