“I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I was raised as a Witness. For a time I doubted whether this truly was the best way of life. So, I read a large amount of opposing and apostate material on the internet, a lot of which was here on JWN. I have seen every apostate talking point out there. Because I found the views of apostates logically deficient, I decided to put my convictions under the hardest test I could think of, which was posting on the above mentioned forum and writing the above mentioned blog. I now am more convinced than ever that Jehovah's Witnesses are God's organization on earth today.”
Examining claims for logical soundness is a means of digging for sound information. Pursuit of sound information is a proper hunt for treasure, and one for which encouragement is found in the biblical text.—(Prov. 2:3-5)
In your participation here try not to be sidetracked by the ignorant sideshows performed by idiots of either pro or anti-Watchtower bias, which is everywhere on forums like this. Keep your eye on the prize of knowledge gained by sound analysis of verifiable information.
As a pendant point, the hardest test to which a person can expose their convictions is not to other humans, but rather to the heat of logical analysis. Any given individual may or may not understand logical construction, but notwithstanding that person’s deficiency, logical construction remains the test because the method neither holds nor knows bias, neither does not change because of bias, and soundness of thinking is the single solitary objective. In the end some folks can handle this test of their personal convictions, and some cannot. Some end up rationalizing preferential beliefs despite the result of logical analysis.
I look forward to reading your contributions.
