    The Rubayyat of Omar Khayyam

    LXXVIII:

"Why," said another, "Some there are who tell
Of one who threatens he will toss to Hell
The luckless Pots he marred in making -- Pish!
He's a Good Fellow, and 'twill all be well."

Well worth reading the whole 105 verses if you are inclined towards philosophical poetry.

Godrulz, I've lost my patience with you. Talking to you is like having a conversation with a parrot. I do insist that you not misrepresent what I've said. I am not a deist.

jgnat: The Bible God is transcendent and immanent. Deism is a false philosophy that makes Him aloof. This is the beauty of the incarnation: God Himself, not a flunky angel, walked among us, suffered, died, rose again. This is why it is so serious to reject Jesus (it is a rejection of God Himself).

I don't think anything I've said would prohibit G-D from being transcendent or immanent. Are these just words to you? My questions related to why G-D does not act quickly (as we understand quickly) to remove injustices. This is observable. I choose to believe that above all G-D loves, and that inaction is not related to any lack of care or concern.

dear 20571pnt428571... you said: " Adam had opportunity to have been our Eternal Father, but he sinned.", "Jesus is not father to the heavenly children of God, he is one of them, the foremost brother" how could Adam ever be our eternal Father...he was created? unlike the Son of God, Jesus Christ...who IS from everlasting. love michelle

Wow, someone shoudl have told Paul and John and the writer of Hebrews that Jesus was "just one of the children of God, the foremost Brother" because according to what they wrote, they certainly didn't believe he was "just that".

    Colossians:

    The Supremacy of Christ

    (Cp Jn 1:1–5)

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 for in h him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He himself is before all things, and in i him all things hold together. 18 He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.

21 And you who were once estranged and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled j in his fleshly body k through death, so as to present you holy and blameless and irreproachable before him— 23 provided that you continue securely established and steadfast in the faith, without shifting from the hope promised by the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven. I, Paul, became a servant of this gospel.

    Philippians 2:

2 If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, 2 make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. 5 Let the same mind be in you that was a in Christ Jesus,

6 who, though he was in the form of God,

did not regard equality with God

    as something to be exploited,

    7 but emptied himself,

taking the form of a slave,

    being born in human likeness.

And being found in human form,

    8 he humbled himself

and became obedient to the point of death—

    even death on a cross.

9 Therefore God also highly exalted him

    and gave him the name

    that is above every name,

10 so that at the name of Jesus

    every knee should bend,

in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11 and every tongue should confess

    that Jesus Christ is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father.

This would all be freaking hilarious, if not for the fact that eternal torment (potentially) lies in the balance.

Pika Chu: I imagine any logician would be able to deal with your non sequiturs, wrong premises, etc.

Then why can't you defend your own beliefs? Does your God not empower you with the ability to think logically? Are my premises really wrong? How so? Is your God not omnibenevolent? Since you are supposed to be made in his image and reflect his virtues, I should say not. You are a douchebag, giving your own God a bad name. The least you can do is explain how my objections are wrong, instead of pretending they aren't there at all.

Luckly salvation has ZERO to do with what people and believers think and everything to do with God.

What's even more hilarious is that we all personally believe that we have it figured out, even though our views are often mutually exclusive. It's a bit humbling, to say the least.
