SHIT SHIT SHIT the dam numbers keep on going up !

The dumb assholes didn't realize that as the members base grew around the world so too would the supposed anointed ones.

They got tripped over by their own created theology

A number of factors-including past religious beliefs or even mental or emotional imbalance-might cause some to assume mistakenly that they have the heavenly calling.

Well, we knew they'd have to come up with some sort of lame-assed excuse as to why the numbers are going up instead of declining and given their pitiful past record, this latest drivel comes as no real surprise. Forget the fact that the bible itself gives no "limit" as to how many go to heaven or that it's supposed to be a personal and one-on-one relationship with God that plays into it. Nooooooo. From this time forward, any newbies who dare to start taking the emblems at the Memorial will be branded as 'mentally and/or emotionall unbalanced' and will be mocked and virtually shunned by the rest of the congregation. And if these people want to continue to be Witnesses in good standing, the not-so-subtle message is quite clear: 'Knock it off if you know what's good for you."

Did the Slobbering Body members not foresee this when they opened the gates a few years ago stating that 1935 wasn't necessarily the cut off date to be considered 'annointed'? What the hell did they think was going to happen?

We thus have noway of knowing the exact number of anointed ones on earth; nor do we need to know.

Is that so? They why have they kept an exact count of how many partake of the emblems for the last 80 or 90 years? Obviously, they felt that they did 'need to know' the 'exact number of anointed', or there would have been no point to tracking the numbers all these years. Only now, when the numbers don't quite tally up with their bullshit very selective doctrine are they claiming that the numbers 'don't really need to know the numbers'. That way, when the number of partakers continues to go up, everyone will simply assume that the person is off their rocker.

The Governing Body does not keep a list of all partakers, for it does not maintain a global network of anointed ones.

Which is quite interesting considering they claim that the 'Faithful and Discreet Slave' is referring to the 'annointed' ones. In a study article a couple of years ago, they claimed that those of the anointed ones don't have any more 'Holy Spirit' than the average Dub which is really bizarre because that's basically the only difference between the two groups. According to the GB, "...The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God." (Roman 8:16). Since the Society teaches that this scripture does not apply to the 'Great Crowd', then how exactly can they claim that the average anointed person doesn't have any more 'Holy Spirit' than the group of those who (supposedly) have the earthly hope? Ya......better smoke a couple of joints after reading that one.

This is another prime example of the Watchtower's retarded doctrines coming back to bite them in the ass. If Rutherfraud (one of the best cases of an emotionally and mentally unbalanced individual I know of) had never invented the 'two class' system of Christians, none of this would even be an issue. But because they had already invented the doctrine of only 144,000 going to heaven, he had to come up with some excuse as to why the numbers weren't jiving with their doctrine. And presto! You've got another insane doctrine to defend and which will inevitably embarass the Borg somewhere down the road.

Should be interesting to see what the numbers are for next year!

Isn't a "global network of anointed ones" supposed to be the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" Class?

In the past, the GB claimed to listen to those of the FDS class. How can there be a class of such ones if the GB don't know who they are??

Sometimes the bullshit they say is beneath us to even want to dissect and analyse.

Their so called anointed numbers are growing which has obviously raised eyebrows, so they have to come with this lame nonsense in order to save face and justify their insanity.

Seriously, its not even worth discussing...

    Hi Everyone,

I haven't been here for a little while. Just keep in mind that it is very common to accuse anyone that throws a wrench into the process as being crazy. Happens everyday--it's not even original. At least they aren't claiming that Satan is sending out fake annointments. LOL However, after they read my comment, a light bulb may pop on and we will see it in an article soon. Afterall, doesn't Satan have an opposite for everything Jehovah offers? Faithful and Discreet Slave vs Evil Slave. God's Kingdom vs United Nations. Christendom vs Christianity.

    Take Care,

The whole "annointed" thing is probably something that the WTS wishes would quietly die out. Back when I was in, they were excited about seeing the number dwindle because that meant the end was getting CLOSER. But, when numbers don't dwindle and, even increase, it doesn't fit with the WTS version of THE END so they have to come up with a fix. Mental illness works because there's so much of it in the congregations anyway, and they always like to use whatever they can to make people feel unworthy and subserviant so it works on a couple of different levels.

The Governing Body does not keep a list of all partakers, for it does not maintain a global network of anointed ones

This statement says a couple of things. The first is already discussed by others above, and that is the Governing Body is talking out both sides of its mouth. The second is subliminal, once again causing the reader to focus on the GB. It is clear that the entire article is a statement directly from the GB. It once again is setting itself up as the Ultimate Authority - to paraphrase, "Since even the Governing Body does not keep a list of partakers, then it is clearly not important to know who they are and consulting them is not something the Governing Body does anyway, even though they are the Annointed Ones through whom you of the Earthly Hope Class will be required to use as mediators. Some of them are nuts, so who should we listen to, anyway? For now, just leave the power and control to us. We know best. Now, shut up, get out there and sell magazines."

Sadly, this could well be the case in many instances:

    - I personally saw such a situation up close, in that the person concerned was the woman I was married to at that time. She believed herself to be "annointed", began taking the emblems, but in fact was suffering from a serious mental illness; an illness so bad as to require three months in a psychiatric institution, and a whole cocktail of different medications to even bring under control, let alone cure.

For once, the Watchtower may be correct!

    Bill.

the whole conception of only 144000 going to heaven is a false doctrine to begin with.there were more than 144000 in the first century alone.
