LIFE IS TOO SHORT- Great ! I'd especially be interested in your comments on the dialogue between these JW's and EX-JW's to see what your take is on it. I found it to be interesting reading. Seeing the attitudes involved

Thank you for BTTT.
Good reading.
I've been an active JW for too many years now. For those who hate to admit it and/or refuse to believe it.....Jehovah's Witnesses and the WTBTS have their share of dirty laundry...........Indeed! This article tells it like it is.
I like how 'OnTheWayOut' words it.....
All the thinking that "we don't want to bring negative light to Jehovah's organization" is such crap. Protect the children and let Jehovah care for His organization's reputation.

Thanks flipper, reading that I am just spechless.
Those that defend the JW's and say that this could not true do not know what they are talking about.
In their defense I guess five years ago I would have not believed it myself but I have seen it with my own eyes. When a know child molester moved into my hall that I went to the elders did not want to know of his past. There was no letter from his former hall telling my elders he raped his very own daughter. Finally because of my bugging the hell out of my elders they got his records from the hall he came from three months latter which I doubt they would have if I had not been there. Not one elder got his police or court records, I finally did and I got into trouble from the elders because I did that. I was told it was not my place to have them, I asked the elder who was counseling me about it being wrong, why was it wrong because they are PUBLIC RECORDS!!!!! He never answered me.
When I first told the elders what I knew about him being a pedophile they got mad at me for even knowing that he raped kids demanding to know how I knew it. I was blown away by their anger and that I was in trouble. I was even threatened with being DF'ed myself if I did not shut up. So that was why I got his court records which clearly spell out that the state hospital diagnosed as a sexual psychopath and that he was declared not treatable by the same state hospital. They sent him back to prison where he served all of his time and also where he learned the "truth" and became a JW. As soon as this man in my hall got out of prison he married a woman in the "truth" with a little girl. Divorced her a few years latter dated at least three other sisters with little girls then dated my sister got engaged to her and I heard some other sister also, finally he settled on a sister with a little girl and they wound up having a child together which you guessed was a little girl. Now they are divorcing.
Yeh he has been DF'ed a couple of times but he comes right back in. The last time he was DF'ed he was back in the "truth" within three months. Unbelievable I know. I mean how many stories have we heard of people getting DF'ed and having to wait years to get back in jumping through hoop to please the elders, not this guy they bring him right back. The elders just love this man to bit. I was even counseled because I would not listen to his talks, the elder who counseled me told me that this pedophile noticed that I left the front school to go to the back school when he had a talk and it hurt his feelings. I should not be doing that I was told. OH MY GOD! Who get counseled because they do not want to listen to a child rapist give a talk. Sister LIST does that who.
I totally believe that Phillip Garriod had connections to the "truth". I do not believe he was a JW but I believe he was involved in the religion and he used the religion to do what he did. I also believe that the ones in whatever hall he went to unknowingly supported him by purposely not looking into his past like they should have just like the elders in my hall have done.
I totally agree with OTWO where he said "All the thinking that "we don't want to bring negative light to Jehovah's organization" is such crap. Protect the children and let Jehovah care for His organization's reputation."
It is so maddening and frustrating.

JW GONE BAD- When I was a JW I wasn't even aware of the child abuse problem on the inside. But after researching the Internet and being out for almost 8 years now it's clear to me the WT society is trying to " save face " in front of their own members and non-witnesses. Since there is no Jehovah running the organization - this child abuse problem will continue. Men run the organization and hey don't really care.
LITS- I know you've had a huge challenge in your local area in tying to convince elders of the seriousness of tolerating chil molesters. In time the WT society will get too bogged down with lawsuits due to their pride and arrogance in being unwilling to change their child abuse policy 's . It's really disgusting. But WT society has no one else to blame but themselves. I hope more and more dirty laundry comes out and exposes the criminal behavior of tolerating child abuse in the JW's. Peace out, Mr. flipper

With over 670 views this thread has sure elicited virtually ZERO takes or comments on the back and forth responses on this article. Kinda puzzled over that. So does ANYBODY have anything to say about the responses I posted on this article from JW's & NON-JW's ? Would really love to hear from you. It makes for interesting discussion. Thanks again

I found the responses from the JW's and ex-JW's typical of those who have been brainwashed by WT.
E.g., the one who mentioned he'd been ousted for 20 years, or something like that, and how hard he's trying to get back into the congregation because JW's are the only religion that demands high morals of its adherents.
Pitiful.
At the same time, the non-JW's are spot-on in their assessment of the cult mentality of WT, and its obsession with Armageddon.
I like that.

SNOWBIRD- Thanks for your takes. Appreciate it. Isn't it amazing how someone can be 20 years removed from the Witnesses - yet the mind control stays intact enough to lure the person back into becoming a JW again ? That amazes me. A person like that never informed themselves of any information about Witnesses while out I guess. I felt the NON-JW's WERE spot on like you said about the cult mentality in the WT society. I found it very informative

For a small (relatively) organization of 7 million members, they sure have more than their fair share of associates, hangers on and members who turn out to be psychos and perverts...This is especially ironic since the Holy Spirit is supposed to operative in their "Spiritual Paradise" . Members truly believe that they live in a "New World Society"....How many times , when wrongdoing was uncovered, did we hear the comment that "Jehovah has brought it to the fore"
We could have a list of notorious characters from this organization - I would nominate Delroy Grant [the Night Stalker serial rapist] and Michael Porter from the London Bethel family , a child molester who received lenient treatment from both the courts and the congregation.
Does any site maintain such a 'Black List'?

BLUES BROTHER- It is amazing the number of freaks and hangers-on that the WT society and Jehovah's Witnesses have attracted. One reason their extremist views are so dangerous. More than ordinary people realize. How many more Phillip Garrido's or Nancy Garrido's are lurking in the shadows of Kingdom Halls everywhere ? There are no check systems in place to see what people's background is. And they don't even check when a man is appointed an elder. Just like the people you mentioned for each of those wackos there may be thousands more hiding in various congregations around the globe. Who would know ? Peace out, Mr. Flipper
