GAYLE- I've been wondering the same as you if Garrido & his wife attended the Antioch congregation once he got out of prison. It was only a short time from 1988 when he exited prison till the year 1991 when he and his wife kidnapped Jaycee Dugard- only 3 years. If I was a betting man I'd conjecture they were still BOTH JW's at that time when they kidnapped Jaycee.

Problem is - like you said - IF the elders in Antioch knew anything about his past - they definitely would have kept that hushed up for sure. If there was only some way to find out. Or if any ex-Witnesses in the Antioch area knew the Garridos back in the late 1980's or 1991 who might come forward now - it could get very interesting if they reveal information about what went down inside the congregation. Any info would help

I got Jaycee's book and read a few pages but can't get back to reading it..don't know if I can handle it. At least she survived!..One good thing.

SNOOZY- Indeed Jaycee has survived. And is doing quite well actually ! She lives only about an hour and a half south of where my wife and I live in Northern California. She's living a free life with her children now. The book was challenging to read - yet very informative seeing the psychological manipulation that the Garrido's used - it was similar to the WT society's methods of manipulation actually. If you are able to muster up the courage- it is a very well written book by Jaycee. Honestly put by her, but it doesn't get into grotesque details to where a person can't read it. But enough details to get a person upset and want justice done on her behalf

I read Jaycees book as well, It was well written but I had to take my time reading it, as emotionally I could only take it in small doses.

She is a remarkable person. I wish all the peace and happiness that anyone person can possible stand!

I wish that Diane Sawyer would interview Candice Conti in the same way she interviewed Jaycee.
