I'm happy for you and I hope that you find contentment with each other.
Even though I'm a young'un, I've learned through a marriage, a divorce, and a few crappy relationships that accepting the whole person (warts and all) and appreciating the effort they put in when they're trying to do right by you really helps. Little things are just that, little things. In the grand scheme of things, I really don't care if my bf picks his toenails or scratches his ass. Because the greater things he does, the support he gives me, make those things mean nothing.
I'm glad Mr. SB is going to try and put in the effort to let the reigns loosen up. That shows growth on his part as a person. I wish you both happiness and joy in your remaining years in this life!
