I figured your husband was still sweet on you when he popped by your house about a month ago asking you to make him some of your yummy chicken salad. I also figured you were probably still a little sweet on him since you agreed to do it and even seemed to enjoy it

I am very happy for you both, Syl. I think married people live longer because love, affection, and touching soothes us and puts us in a better state of mind and health. Not only that, if something were to happen to you, it is better to be found by your husband who can get you to the hospital instead of the family dog, who might just eat you.

Sounds like a workable solution. As one gets older and wiser, the admonition to "pick your battles wisely" rings louder and truer. It gets a lot easier to just let things go like water off a duck's back. You don't have to win every argument....heck, you don't even have to allow one to take root.
