Faith is awesome and so is a father's over protective love for his daughters.

You think hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?

Bub, you ain't seen nothing yet.

    ;)

That it worked out is great, hey I know people that do the dumbest things and it works out, still wouldn't recommend it or be happy for my kids of they did it.

Know one guy the survived a skydive when his chute didn't open, would I recommend anyone else doing it?

    Nope.

    You have wonderful family Tom.

What I get from your opening post is that your wife's family were probably sizing you up from quite early on and that they certainly would not have allowed her to have anything to do with you if they hadn't already checked you out and approved of you.

I think it was somewhere between the ages of 13 and 14 that I started noticing men leering at my daughters. It happend for each of them in turn. And it wasn't just young boys their own age; it was any male within eyeshot including drooling geezers old enough to be my father.

I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was anyway. It was very, very tough to deal with.

Indeed, wierd thing is that the moment I became a father it felt just, well..wrong, to look at any younger lady THAT way, know what I mean?

We don't expect kids to vote or to drive or to even have full time jobs when they are under 18, yet marriageis ok?

I don't get that and the funny thing is that my folks were married real young.

My mom was 16 and my dad 19 !

Of course BOTH will tell you they were FAR TOO young and even though they are still together, 45 years later, neither one would say it was the "best of moves" and both agreed that they should have waited.

Of course hindsight is 20-20, but the point is understanding that just because something went right, doesn't mean it's the way to go.

Shame on you LoneWolf for not following the crowd. Oh, wait a minute, that's a good thing to follow your own conscience. Never mind.

I don't think it is as simple as that, I know a few people that don't follow the crowd, a couple are dead because of it.

Following your conscience is great and we all must do just that, that doesn't mean we will ALWAYS be right even if it may turn out right.
