No I'm agreeing with all of them. You need to go back and read the conversation. I suggested you start a new topic if you want to discuss the great crowd. This thread is about homosexuality and the outdated moral edicts of the bible and those who follow it.

As someone who was attracted to the same sex before I started school (but like the good, uptight lad I was, did not act on those urges), I have long pondered the ethical and moral dilemmas thrust upon me by genetic, biological and personality factors. If I could distill the essence of my long years of painstaking pondering it would be this:

The only justification for acting on homosexual urges is that the object of one's urges must be damn good looking. Life is just too short to enact urges upon objects that are not good looking. I hope this distillation helps opposers see that we more contemplative queer folk are deep and in no way superficial because what others think of me is very important. Thank you.

Somtimes posts here really frustrate me. You are factually wrong and that's the end of it. The word for crowd is not Naos. Good game. That was the entire conversation where you're concerned, and it is over. A topic discussing it is unnecessary.

Haters gonna hate. Won't matter what I say to you, or how many sources I quote- you will always be right. If I felt you were reasonable I'd next post pictures of the entires in these books- but where this is concerned you are not reasonable. You blindly hate the bible, and your ignorance of SOME but not ALL topics concerning it undermines you're entire viewpoint IMO.

Of course it isn't, I never said it was.

    You said...

The bible does actuall specify a separation between a smaller flock of king priests in heaven and a innumerable crowd on earth - Jonathan Drake

    I said...

The Great Crowd are in heaven - in the "naos".

naos refers to the inner sanctum of the temple in heaven not the outer courtyards or heiron as the WT claims.

Never at any time did I claim that naos means crowd.

Your explanation that the bible's condemnation of homosexuality does not apply to the GC because they are subjects of the kingdom on earth is based on a WT fallacy. That was my point.

Actually my bible knowledge is exceptional. It is a consequence of many wasted years in a cult followed by 9 years as a christian.

You need to slow down and read what people actually write.

What a dynamic thread. I liked the phrase of "praying the gay away." Not that I think that will help, it is just a great phrase - highly offensive, but still very creative.

As I was making my exit from the JW religion and religion in general one of my problems related to the fact that there really are gay people. We had a young man in our congregation that was gay - he just was and everyone knew it. But he loved god and also loved what we knew as the "truth."

I could never figure out how god would allow this young man to deal with this conflicting reality. In the end I escaped from the religion, and so did he. We have become great friends So I guess there was a happy ending.

    WOW! JD is totally obtuse!

Anyway, back to the good stuff! Timmy, your all good in my book. The Bible makes no sense, especially the JW slant. According to JWism, Jeehoober allows suffering. He is all-knowing, so he knew that "Satan" turned bad, and exactly when he turned bad. Why? He reads hearts! How do we know this? In the new world, after the final test, all "bad " people will be instantly executed, because Jeehoober reads their heart. No need to "allow" more time to go on, no need to prove his sovereignty again...

So what does all this mean? Jeehoober allows everything to happen, all so that he can show how great he is. So whether you are gay because of genetics, enviroment, or the combination of both, Jeehoober allows it! So now he's going to kill you??? Bull-shit!!!!

    No...

    Rev 7:15

15 For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His [a]temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.

Where is the temple and where is the tabernacle?

    Revelation 21:3

3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will [a]dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them[b],

Because it's off topic, I won't post about it again. But they are before the throne but not in heaven, the tabernacle is shown to be among mankind in the context of revelation. It nowhere states that it is in heaven, only on earth, among mankind.

I once tried to pray the gay away - but when I opened my eyes afterwards, he was still there in my room - right in front of my very eyes. He knew I was a hopeless case because he also knew I was a pushover for damn good looking men. He knew way too much about me, including my area of vulnerability- more in fact than Jehovah did.

"If homosexuality is wrong", he ventured, "Why would your God create such damn good looking men like me?" I could not answer. "Now" he directed, " you can either remain on your knees praying that I'll go away or put that supplicating posture to a use more consonant with your base urges."

I was stunned but ultimately obeyed and was relieved in a way prayer had never done. A new channel of communication had opened up before me; I felt blessed as never before. Prayer never stood a chance and "Amen" took on a new, more joyous meaning.

    Yep.

    "tabernacle" = skene NOT naos.

Rev 7:15 naos - Strongs 3485 = a temple, a shrine, that part of the temple where God himself resides.

Only the priest could enter the naos.

    Rev 21:3 skene - Strongs 4633 = tent

Steve - Have you come to any conclusions regarding the relative influences of genes, development, childhood and even choice?

I sometimes wonder if people are too quick to assert the all gay people have no choice as if there is anything to defend. Clearly there is a strong genetic, development element in most if not all gay people. Even if it was a choice in the case of some, so what? I remember gay rights spokesperson Peter Tatchell saying something similar many years ago.
