Indeed. Young people are very saavy internet users. From their own experience, they know something isn't right with the religion. Couple that gut feeling with the information and facts available on the internet, and it won't be long before more young people LEAVE this religion. All I can say to them is, GOOD FOR YOU! Don't waste your youth and time on this religion and please prepare for your future like you're going to be here for a long time!
NRFG, you musta heard that in a talk on Sunday. Otherwise, I think you could pass as a writer for the WT!
I left at 22. Does that make me a young person leaving the truth or do I still have to be a teenager?
I think it's important that the people leaving the cult know the truth about the cult and stop believing in it. Many who are df or "leave" still believe in the wts teaching which puts guilt and fear in their daily lives. Many non attending believers may return to the cult if the things get bad and then we'll read another Andre story in the watchtower how so and so left the borg for evil world only to return to the spiritual paradise. Also, many of those who have left the cult still attend the memorial each year as if that will save them which makes the memorial attendance number look like there are so many interested ones in the field.
Besides the internet, young people are just sick of the boring bullshit.
It's a shame that our young ones fall victim to the snares of the Devil. All too often they view the protection found only within The Truth as suffocating, simply because they don't have the experience (Prov 22:3) to recognize that the world offers nothing but emnity with the True God.- 1 John 2:15.
Perhaps that is a slanted way of looking at it.
"Train up a boy according to the way for him; even when he grows old he will not turn aside from it." (Prov 22:6 NWT)
The WTS has never come close to fulfilling this scripture at any time in it's history, even if you view this scripture as a general rule. Not even children of elders, who receive a regular one hour per week Bible study, stay in. As noted above, about 2/3 of young people are gone by the time they get into adulthood.
Are they leaving because they are ensnared by the world, or because they recognize the religion is closer to being a cult than the 'only true religion'?
I had noticed this trend for years, and it's one of the things that convinced me that the Watchtower is not the truth.

That's because the Devil is working harder knowing he only has a short time left. (Rev 12:12) Fitting it is that our chief advesary is compared to that of a "roaring lion seeking to devour someone."(1 Pet 5:8) A missionary serving where the need is great in Africa related that once he was on a Safari Trip which had a party of two trucks. The guide took them to a location where there was a pride of lions. The lions being used to people visiting never even moved from their relaxed state. However, at one point, a small child amongst the tour asked her mother a question. Immediately, the lions ears perked up, and they moved closer to the vehicles. For what reason did the lions act in this manner? Evidently, the predators found the presense of a small child appealing as it would mean potentially easier prey. The only thing preventing the lions from pouncing was the presense of the child's adult companions.
Similary, True Christians, particulary our youth are being watched by the Devil who is every bit of cunning and dangerous as a lion, with the only difference he seeks to devour our spiritual lives. Just like he was able to cause 1/3 of the angels in heaven to stand behind his cause. If he can mislead 1/3 of spirit creatures in the heavens, as well as the entire world, we should not be surprised that he can mislead 2/3 of the offspring of True Christians. Thankfully the Slave Class saw fit to institute Family Worship Night as a counteracting measure against the machinations of the Devil.

Sorry, but your rationale is flawed and full of excuse-making. Prov 22:6 is an assurance given by the Creator, and his word is flawless, don't you believe that? Certainly holy spirit is a stronger force than the Devil. Those inspired words are a protection from the very thing you are yielding to in your answer. You are actually tipping your hat to Satan as being stronger than Jehovah.
The fact that JW children fall away from the religion proves one of two things. Either JW parents are guilty of not bring up their children 'according to the way for them', or the religion itself is not the right way. Since even children of elders, who must conduct a one-hour per week family study with them, fall away, it strongly suggests that the religion is not the right way.

According to your Watchtower-sympathyzing way of thinking, the Family Worship Night will eliminate your young people from leaving the organization, and JWs will finally start fulfilling Prov 22:6? After more than 130 years of being in existance? That's what the family study was for all along, isn't it? It didn't work. Surely you can't be so naive as to think that changing the name to FWN will make any difference. Since it was instituted has there been any real change in the young ones leaving?
What will you say after 10 years pass, and young ones still leave? What if they are leaving in even greater numbers than now? What new excuses will you have?
Nice NRFG- you are on a roll. You have a potential to serve in the writing dept. Shades of sd-7
@ Scenic viewer, did you know that "gullible" isn't even a word that is in the dictionary?
