    Cofty, thanks for the update!!

And as others have said, it sounds like the cancer has been kept from spreading, at the very least.

    Please keep us updated!!

You are in my thoughts Cofty. Here is something I hope might help:

DIFFICULTY AT THE BEGINNING works supreme success, Furthering through perseverance. Nothing should be undertaken. It furthers one to appoint helpers.

Clouds and thunder: The image of DIFFICULTY AT THE BEGINNING. Thus the superior man Brings order out of confusion.

I am now going to pretend I have nothing wrong with me for the next 5 weeks.
Ex cellent plan. I would do the same, especially if I was already fit and strong, as you are. My thoughts are with you as well.

    Peace and strength,

I hope things are going OK for you?

No worries Cofty. Just a few years before my diagnosis my cancer was slow growing, but pretty much terminal. But then, there was this HUGE breakthrough, and now it has been changed from terminal to chronic---it's crazy. The difference that 6 years makes. Anyway, I'm doing well and have responded beautifully---I'm not cured, (only a bone marrow transplant can cure it) but certainly don't expect to die from it.

And that's my point. They have come so far so fast, that from one day to the next it only gets better!

NC - Thats really encouraging to hear.

Its great to see ongoing progress with new treatments. I'm sure genetics will be the key to truly effective permanent cures eventually.

Cofty I've been thinking of PMing you for the last two days! I'm so glad to hear that you have surgery scheduled, and that you actually feel good!

Spring is coming early here too, and I've been going a little overboard. Enjoy the hell out of it!

If I understand correctly, it played a role in my treatment---they isolated the chromosome and it's mutation. They called it the Philadelphia Chromosome.

Wow - that is the future! I got a letter from the gentics research centre in Newcastle last week, my oncologist have asked them to take a look.

Thanks again everybody. For the next 5 weeks sleep is for wimps!
