Yes it was BTS. I was on Capecitabebe (Xeloda)
Ah. That turns into 5FU in the tumor. Much better, side effect wise, than the classic formulation (no injections).
Was it administered singly, or as an adjuvant?
In Dec/Jan I had it in conjunction with radiotherapy.
The lab results after the op showed 3/27 lymph nodes were malignant so the adjucntive chemo was in case it had spread beyond the tumour site. There was no vascualr invasion and only nodes closest to the tumour were involved so signs are promising.
I am very happy to hear this. I've had several nodes removed previously, due to lymphoma. Fortunately, I've been clear now for going on 19 years. I wish you the best.

I recently had to stop my chemo for a serious side effect. We are looking for alternatives, but because the price is so high, I have to wait for the drug company to respond. It's been 3 weeks. I understand how uncertain it feels to have an effective medication taken away. I'm thinking about you. Please continue to update us.

cofty, sorry to hear about your colon cancer. Have you had any surgery yet? (I have not read all the posts yet) I see many patient who have a colectomy, have part of the colon removed, and do well. I am an oncology nurse. Some chemo does do a lot of harm to the heart. Glad you stopped the chemo.

That information does sound promising. My thought are and will be with you. I hope you have a speedy recovery. If there has not been vascular invasion and few nodes involved, it sounds like great news.
